Community Event / Creation Abraka Drabble e-Book

If it's Elite branded you'd need to talk to us first.

Michael

I knew that , and if it's worth publishing, I would do it through / via / with the official blessings of Frontier / Elite: Dangerous.

Initially I'm writing it for my own entertainment. If it turns out to be any good we can talk about further steps. I hope you weren't coming down heavy handed - I am aware of copyright laws :D

In this case, If people are wanting to not be included, We should go through the then choosing the top 5 from each drabble, excluding most of the in-jokes and anyone who's wishing to opt out.

Is that agreeable?
Agree

To quote Miranda Hart "Isn't 'agree' a funny word? Agree, agree, agree." (sideways look to camera).

The idea of proceeds going to charity is a good one. I suppose, eventually, we'll have to vote on which charit(y/ies) to support. Perhaps collectively we could even set up a charity of our own?

If it's Elite branded you'd need to talk to us first.

Frontier Developments could always nominate the Chairty.....

Bikky it might be easier if you knocked something together?

I am happy to support you in any way you need so use what you will.

Right, I'll grab the top 5 from each, Lob them together in a bit of text, post it here for comments.

Then we can talk image, and FD approval, and charity money etc.

I don't think you can actually put this up for sale. You would have to get approval from all 30 or so authors.

Just blindly choosing the top 5 each week is also crude.

Why not just shove them all together and put it up here for free? It would be no different than a bunch of links to the relevant web pages where the stories still sit.

amendments noted.

I'll start off with them all, put it up here, and if anyone want's theirs removing that can be done.

That would be the way I'd like it released as well. Something that's more just an advert for Elite: Dangerous.

With FD's approval, it could even be 'sold' for £$€0 from Amazon - o'course it would need a nice cover, and probably a warning to any potential buyers that it may harm them mentally or psykokowlogically :D

Maybe second guessing Frontier isn't too wise, but I would personally find it hard to believe they would put their seal of approval on this. They're being quite strict with what content is officially linked with them, and a bunch of drabbles with lewd jokes in them doesn't reflect well on their brand. Indeed, it makes the whole community look rather twisted and bizarre ;) Plus they're not going to want to put resources into combing through the whole thing giving a yea or nay on every piece.

But further to that I don't see what good it would do sitting free on Amazon. One needs to be part of the community to appreciate the drabbles properly.
