One of these goals had an estimated 1000-3000 person hours of effort put into it.
The other goal had an estimated 500-1000 person hours of effort put into it.
What if you threw a party, and nobody turned up?
One of these goals failed to hit tier one and so the devs stepped in and extended it by another week.
One of these goals failed to hit tier one and so the devs said 'suck it up princess' and did nothing.
After extending the time limit, one of these goals went on to hit (and presumably top out at) tier 8.
In one of these goals you basically rocked on up to a bunch of asteroids and zero-risk free money started flowing directly into your coffers.
In the other goal you had to mine and sell osmium (for about 11x LESS than it could be sold elsewhere (sell at CG for 7.5k, or sell to missions board for 86k .... hmmm ... ) - and despite 'artificially high' demand for osmium at Abres its price was the same as pretty much anywhere else in the galaxy (osmium has basically no variation in its price as far as I can tell).
Was the community goal with 1000-3000 person hours the one that got extended? Nope.
Was the community goal with 1000-3000 person hours the one that hit tier eight? Nope.
I'm not asking for anything for me, I only mined about 40 tons of osmium for the goal (I'd recently done a save-wipe and got caught with my metaphorical pants down), but I think FDev owes everyone that mined more osmium than that in the Abres goal two things (and I'm not suggesting that money should be one of those things, nobody mines in this game for money)
