absurdly left-for-someone-else-to-do problem for basic controls/display comprehension?

please correct me if im wrong, but is it just me, or is there noWHERE,.. where someone from Frontier has gone to the monumental, mammoth, task,

of making a KEPT-up-to-date...

list, of the symbols that appear under your dashboard hologram/schematics?

ie, the internals-damage, module-malfunction.... etc... symbols?

yet again, after 3.3 ... there is no comprehensive list, and i've wasted over an hour, trying to find anything on the net, that's up-to-date / after the release.

i know you're busy frontier, but HOW DIFFICULT IS A LIST ?

seriously, pull-your-finger-out and just get it done!

one page, somewhere on the Frontier site, or i don't know,.. on the wiki...

ANYwhere!!!

and every time there's an update... CHECKLIST number 126...

update hologram effects-icons...

right...
takes you 5 minutes....
done....

and everyone's happy!

relatively speaking anyway, even if they had to look it up, rather than it being in a help file in the in-game menus, which of course is laughable to suggest you might actually goto the effort in making, so i won't bother.

even so!

at least you could find it SOMEwhere.

but no.

enjoy your exclusivities while they last, dev.s who play the game... it is one of the few tho shallow moments in your lives, where you will KNOW, what will succeed at being detrimental to others... you sad, sad, people.

well i don't know about ALL, i might be unable to recognise, but i saw a new one in combat, i'd never seen before... and i was just.... why am i un-able, to find something comprehensive, up to date... in like 5 minutes, instead of after an hour?

*fuming*

but i think it was like this

perhaps less square on the thicker 3-sided square bits on the outside of the inner lines.
or a in-complete parallelagram, rather than a 3-sided square?

and maybe a few extra little bits i didn't notice fully - i only saw it once in the middle of combat... my memory's not THAT good.

it was not just corrosion... i'm used to that. it definitely had extra bits.
perhaps a thargoid weapon effect?

searched for them as well... didn't find anything on the net.

thanks for asking tho! i didn't expect anyone would bother with this one,
assumed you'd all just take it as a suggestion/complaint, etc.

------------------

the main point of my post wasn't to get an answer for me,..

it was to say it is slack & inefficient, to not have a kept-up-to-date list somewhere,.. as new effects get added. another way of putting it would be to say that the periodic manual updates, are not IN SYNCH,.. do not happen at the same time, as every single new icon/symbol added.

so a separately maintained list, would simplify it / solve it in one. just have a HTML link, IN, the manual, in the text ... TO, the external site.

real basic, no problems with OS differences... even just a plain image-hyperlink display link - a straight instant display/download, with your computer's ability to display an image - bmp, jpg, whatever. your native, local, image-handler.

the link could stay the same, only the image itself, would need to be updated.

that means no unhappy producers / managers of the manual, resisting more frequent updates - only the URL, for the address, would actually need to be in the manual, and it, would stay the same.

as it is, the current, AS IS SUPPOSED TO BE, current,.. list, at the end of the day...
did not contain what i saw yesterday.

got a copy of that one already. keep it loaded next to my window, as i play.

I can't say that I have noticed that one in particular yet. If it is indeed new, your request is valid, these things shouldn't be left to be deciphered by the community. An updated manual for 3.3 would be useful anyway, but I don't think these were ever released at the same time as the game patch.

well im thinking in advance of, the periodic manuals, since i know production managers are more than resistant, to making so many it confuses and annoys ppl.

no releasing too many IS, a good idea, i would not disagree w that.

but a STATIC, URL... to only a small upload (publication) ... rather than having to publish an entire document...

could keep it current... as long as the URL stays the same.

so some kind of repository AT frontier, i would imagine, or maybe a kept-online one via a online-storage service.

i was surprised by how useful google drive was when i first learned about it... similarly... something accessible VIA, a facilitation... could be easy access, AFTER a single URL lookup.

so say someone on a boat in the middle of the Indian ocean... out in the middle of nowhere,.. but with a relay ISP on a boat-satellite connection.

could while on holiday... load the .PDF ...

click on the URL link for the list of icons...

it downloads with a bit of a satellite-delay...

and bingo! his drunk shipmate is shown the icon he's been drunkenly arguing over for the last 20m, when no-one else knows what he's talking about... and the party can again continue...

just as current, as someone in London... in terms of needing to access a remote storage point - all that would stay the same in the manual, is a URL.

LIKE, my google url to my shared file... i mean.

accessABLE...

and the URL need never change, in the .PDF

so no more frequent a manual publication, in other words.
