Abuse of the word immersive

Whats wrong with it? Dont you want to be immersed when playing? Or watching a movie, or reading a book etc? It just means you get into it and forget about time and everything else and enjoy yourself. And its achieved by having great gameplay, sounds, story, missions etc.

Not sure i understand why immersion is a bad thing. Maybe you were just having a bit of fun and i missed the point. Maybe your post wasnt immersive enough for me get it.

What's wrong with using the word Immersive? It's a simulator; immersion should be a natural part of the gameplay experience.
+1 on the "being immersed" side.
Actually I find this game a huge meditation - flying along in the endless space makes me humble towards our universe in which it's the huge empty space it is defining matter (not the other way).
FD delivered something really important in this game for sure!

This is actually not the 1st thread about this either. We'll have to come up with a new descriptor to curb the backlash. How about "presence"?

I always thought "wipe" threads most amusing, during betas. Nobody fond of any humour, there, though.
I've noticed that. Things seem to be fairly polarized here as well. Either way, this game is a breath of fresh air from all the 'generic shooter 12' games out.
