I have AC I and AC II. One/Two reasons why I will probably never buy another game again (now that I have bought my copy of ED). It was just button press rep.
Sand box, more link sandwich box. Don't know what the online is like, collecting feather and like really got to me. Only bought AC I because of the history AC II sad to say but bought it because of the flat map and chance to meet Leonardo. I fell for the marketing.......

Played AC 1 and found it to be really good at first, but later on a case of rinse and repeat what's gone before, just in slightly different places. Had a shot of AC 2 and hated it. Never bothered after that. Which is a shame, as there is probably a quite good game in there - obvious as it's quite popular.
Real shame, the multiplayer aspect of the game to me was so original ... oh well..
