Accent of station announcements recordings

In some fed stations, the background announcements are made by some guy with what I think is a Dutch or Scandanavian accent. I really love it - it's cool.

Who is it, anyone know?

Swedish.

My ears are rather good for this kind of thing most times.

His vocalisation sounds like that of a Swede, I have talked to a few in my time.

Of course that's my opinion.

yeah the OP thought he had a horrible accent. OP couldnt hear it anymore. I dont care as English is not my mother tongue

(as long as the accent is not scottish of course) (but who would want a scottich accent in any game ?)

I'm Dutch and it does sound Dutch to me. Play the credits - there are names listed for four or five voice actors for Imp/Fed etc.

its a bad dutch accent spot on ( about 70% of the dutch that talk english have this or even a worse accent)

There are Chinese (I think) in some Empire stations. IIRC, there are quite a few different ones in Imperial stations.

The in-ship auto pilot voice is called Betty. She used to work for Egosoft but got paid off when X Rebirth crashed.

Actually... they should provide a script and get the community to provide mp3s of their recordings... results could be hilarious. Actually... could get the community to improvise on the script too... just like some air stewards do with the safety announcement

He sure sounds like me and my compatriots attempting English.
There's also a nice sounding one with a Slavic accent.

Our station announcer does a better job at English than most Dutch people though.

Love the accents (the one the OP is referring to sounds definitely dutch, not swedish).

What's the closest accent you can buy for the microsoft voice (to use in speech control software as the feedback voice)?
I got the 'British Amy' from Ivona...it's close but not quite there. Anyone know if there's a voice based on Betty?

Is it weird that I open and close my cargo scoop all the time to hear her say "cargo scoop, retracted"?

I just love the way she says that sentence..

I'd much prefer Holly...especially if instead of saying "frameshift drive charging" it said...."Holly hop drive charging"
