Hardware & Technical Accessing an SSD or HD on a laptop using USB

The adaptors to connect an HD or SSD to USB have been around for a while now.

I needed one to get some important files.

Found this on Amazon. It's solid, first class build and works. Best of all, it only cost 7 quid!

Cant say fairer than that!

USB is slow, and most cases don't support SMART.

Therefore, if you wish to connect something externally, I suggest using eSATA (in the consumer world).

A usually better alternative would be to use network based storage.
