Accessing left/right menu slowdown

So in addition to the other various bugs (and because I have no clue where to post but everyone seems to be posting various bugs here on this forum) theres a new un-fun bug

When I hit 1 or 4 on my keyboard to see the left and right menus, theres a drastic slower speed to it now rather than being the instant snap it was before. I do not like that personally. I rely on being able to access menus very fast and seeing this is just terrible.

And I know it's not my FPS as I have show FPS on and I'm still getting 145+ on Ultra.

Can we seriously get a fix for this? In the heat of combat I don't have time for "Realism" of turning my head slower to look at the menu, I want the pre-2.3 headsnap to the menus back.

EDIT: Also, the new chat box 2 menu is atrociously clunky and lame looking. Looks like something out of an Alpha game pre-release build.

EDIT:2 why the heck does my ship say it's name above the upper left Menu as "Asp Explorer"? I'm well aware of what ship I'm flying. Oh my god, does frontier think I need to be coddled or something? Like I don't know what ship I'm even even by my shield icon?

EDIT 3: Why the heck even with 4 pips in Engines does my engineered ASP now handle like junk in normal space and turns like a whale in Supercruise? And oh god why do stars look so bad?

I had such high hopes for this patch... but all I'm seeing are letdowns everywhere I look.

Definitely file a bug report for the first one if it doesn't clear up in a day or so. I don't have any issues with the speed that Panel 1 and 4 open. I don't think there's some feature about 'realism' at work here, but some kind of non-universally experienced bug.

I honestly don't understand your objection to the chat menu. To my eyes it's functional and a clear improvement on what came before, mainly because it combines multiple messages from the same sender.

Not sure what you mean by the upper left menu showing your ship's name. You mean the Info panel in the upper right, perchance? I'm perplexed by your attitude that your ship name might be there because "frontier think I need to be coddled", it's just a bit of personalisation. And it only shows Asp Explorer by default: it shows the ship's personal name, not the ship's brand name.

And I can't think of anything in the beta that should have affected the handling of your Asp. My Courier handles identically to before.

See if your performance issues are just temporary, and maybe look if there's anything that could be going on on your side... then submit a bug report. These aren't game features, and they're not universal experiences. So I hope you can be optimistic that they'll get sorted out for you and that they don't represent a great failing of 2.3. (That would be the galaxy map bug...)

Edit: Just curious... 145+ on Ultra is pretty amazing, and I'm wondering if you're running in SLI or Crossfire? The other active thread right now complaining about slowdown, where I'm getting better performance, is someone with a SLI set-up and who normally achieves incredibly high performance (much higher than I'm used to!)

I'll try a bug report, thanks.

As for the Ultra, I'm only playing at 1920x1080 but the rig I'm using is the exact following:

I don't use SLI, but I've got a behemoth of a rig imo.

EDIT: Erm... how to bug report?

You have indeed! Very strong choices you made. My GTI 970 is still running games like this beautifully, but I do want a 1070 at some point... I went and bought a 970 just before the 10 generation came out, out of sheer foolish impatience. Really don't like your monitor, but hey, I do get the appeal of the 1ms/144Hz class of monitor. I just prefer the IPS/1440p class. (The other two being 'ultrawide' and '4K', though that was when I last looked... I'm sure now you can get monitors that meet more than one of those criteria at once.)

So okay, not necessarily a SLI issue. Just curious about how the two people having performance issues are people with really, really fast machines.
