Account support needed, ticket system didn't help, unsure what to do.

Hi.
I appear to be having one or more account related issues. As per the title of this thread the account support ticket system, and google searching did not appear to resolve my issues. I'm trying here next.
Apologies if this is not the correct sub section of the forum to make this post, this is the first post I've made on this forum.
Before I get to the issues themselves let me explain what I think is part of the problem, or at least what is how I got too the problem.:
Bought the game on Steam a long time ago, before all the DLC came out, don't remember when. Played a whole 117 minutes of it, experienced issues (unrelated to the ones I'm having now) with my GPU over heating. Had my ship blown up by other ships one too many times while I was still attempting the tutorials, got frustrated and quit playing the game for a long while.
Somewhat before Christmas 2019 had some extra money and needed a new (to me) game to pass some time. Steam was doing the thing Steam does and had the DLC and the season pass at a discount so I bought them, don't recall what day.
Finally got around to trying to play the game maybe an hour or two ago. Launched Elite Dangerous: Horizons in Steam. The launcher wanted me to log in via Frontier account, so I made one. Frontier account wanted me to verify an email, repeatedly, so I did, repeatedly (same one every time). Frontier account wanted me to provide a product key, so I copy pasted the one from Steam.
So now the issue(s).:
I can not launch the game via any method I have tried. I get different kinds of account related errors each method I attempt.
I've tried launching ED from Steam, Launching ED:H from Steam, forcing Steam to update, restarting Steam, verifying local files via Steam, Launching ED from the exe in the Steam library, loging into Frontier via the ED launcher, loging into Steam via the ED launcher, loging the machine out and back in via the ED launcher, verifying the email, verifying the email again, verifying the email again again, linking the product key to Frontier, linking the product key to Frontier again, adding a billing address to the Frontier account, Googling, Googling again, Googling again again, head tilting, chin scratching, asking nicely, burning incense, fondling the computer, sacrificing my sisters cat to the Omnissiah, and yet I still can't play the game.
A game that I have played before, on this Steam account, on this computer.
The accounts keep wanting me to update Steam, restart Steam, verify the email, verify the email again, link a product key, link a diffrent product key because the Steam one is already in use, and probably one or two other things that I'm forgetting but I've already tried and they were equally non helpful.
So, in short.: What do?

Check if the FAQs help with your issues. If not raise a ticket. You don't need a frontier acct though it can help. Make sure you get a confirmatory email, otherwise the ticket was probably not created (should also be visible in the 'My Tickets' area).

Thanks for the quick reply.
Have not tried that specific web page before I think. Tried the fix suggested and had similar problems.:
Loged in successfully. Copied the CD Key from Steam successfully. Pasted the key. Web page threw similar errors.
"We require your first name and surname." This ones new, account already has those.
"Email addresses do not match." This ones new, and yes they do match.
"Passwords do not match." This ones new, and yes they do match. If the email was wrong then how would the web page know weather or not the password was wrong? Vice versa?
"Please complete the captcha to..." Blah, blah, blah. Yes I did complete it.
"Sorry this key has been previously used." Yeah, on this account, today. Also on this account like years plural ago.

Hi again.
I've found one of the problems, in short: I am a moron.
I have two slightly different email address. When I first set up the game a long time ago I used a different one then when I tried to play the game now. Did a password reset on the old account and now the Steam versions launcher isn't telling me to update Steam any more, joy!
Now Steam wants me to redeem the CD key, which is what I was attempting to do on the exe launcher with the other account.
Get directed to "tools (dot) elitedangerous (dot) com (slash) en (slash) register?steam=true", then I enter the correct email, then I do the captcha, then I copy paste the CD key from Steam.
Web page still throws a bunch of errors.:
Requires first name and surname.
Email addresses do not match.
Passwords do not match.
Complete the captcha.
Sorry, this key has been previously used.
I've done all those things. What do I do? Did I mess something up attempting to use the CD key on the other account?

So there have been some changes to the accounts. I am surprised you did not hear back from support. I took a year and a half off when the game started crashing (THANKS ASUS COOL n QUIET < yea it will crash games b.c it throttles voltage) but that is a diff story. ---

ANYHOW -- They should get you sorted. If you registered the keys to different accounts they will likely have to help you with that.
