Horizons Actually I believe we are meeting and being scanned by the Guardians.

why do I think this is so?
There are several wrecks of this type of ship (flowerpower) for the use of a better description,(Guardian) ships that have been found. The only thing that would be able to take it down would be a Thargoid ship..
There is also one wreck site that shows several earth like ship and one (flowerpower) (Guardian ) ship.
Several Commanders to date after being scanned have fired a full broadside on the flowerpower (Guardian ship) with no apparent affect, or no fire returned.

I would suggest that regarding the wreckage of the (flowerpower)Alien ship and the earth like ships, that all had battled someone or something that had the firepower to take them all down together. You remember the damage on the earth ships looked like they had been ripped open like a can opener.

As Earth like ships don't have the firepower to take down this alien flowerpower ship (Guardian) then I am proposing to you that the earth like ships were attacked by Thargoids, the guardians lept to the rescue and they all were taken out by the yet unseen Thargoids and crashed together.

Your mixing up Guardians ( Ancient Ruins Tri-based technology ) with Insectoid ( Thargoid / Oresians ) Octagonal Technology.

The crashed Vessel and the Scanning Vessel are Insectoid-Scouts and remotelly operated via Drones in the cockpit ( you can even see them thru ) Theese drones look like the Unknown Probes.
In the past only "Militairy Lasers" were able to penetrate their shields and their the only Race possibly living in Witchspace with the ability and Behavior to pull ships out of it. The current Gen Type 3 Hyperdrive Technology reworked by Sirius Corp is a Result of Reverse-Engineering soem of teh Insectoid Technology. Thargoids and Oresrians said to look pretty close to eachother in Appearance while Thargoids are inherently Agressive. The one uses more Greenish tech the other more brownish in ED - but similar Design - which is which remains open.

The Guardians have left clues on the Ancient Ruins - you can get the History Quest at Ram Tah.

Actually no. I destroyed many Thargon motherships using only a mining laser back in the 80s.

(Ooops, hope the Thargoids don't read these fora)

That's it. They've been using the wrong weapons, like trying to use normal beam lasers for mining. I guess you need to get really close with the mining lasers.
