Imagine if you would, your slamming down a coaster drop coming to a pirate ship. As you swoop down you see a cargo door in front of you. You're worried about hitting it. Suddenly the door swings open and you swoosh inside the darkened belly of the ship. As you're going through the hull a tentacle breaks the boards of the ship, suddenly another, then again: CRACK! The kraken's head appears just in time for the coaster to bank away to safety.
This would be a scenario for actuators. Little devices that sit on coaster tracks, can be placed on pressure plates in the park on paths and many more locations. A single line can be dragged from one actuatable device to another. Once a guest, car, whatever you have runs across this device it will immediately activate the actuatable prop. New props like openable doors, floorboards that break apart, and so on can be added. So in the kraken tentacle example to build it: You would place the broken planks in the floor, the tentacle below the floor and then as you build the track you place the single box device on it pointing up so it can be activated. Now you click the trigger box to select it, right click it to get a wire, drag the wire to the planks (which activates it first) then select the door, right click it and drag the wire to the tentacle (which will now active after the planks start. Maybe even add a water sprayer in between? This would of course surprise guests within the ride increasing the reactions! Great fun!
Another, more simplistic example: Automatic doors for that futuristic section you've just added. Actuator pressure plate under door, click to select, right click to start wire, then click on door to make the wire connection. Normally I'd say use the device box like on the coaster but there's no guarantee that the device would connect a person to the actuation if they came in from the side.
