General Gameplay Add a radial selection wheel for console players.

I've been struggling to grapple with the interface on my controller, and I think adding a radial wheel would fix these problems. I can't seem to build a good muscle memory for the main interface because it constantly remembers where you left off at. For example: If I where to build a power station, the next time I go to my side bar to smooth the landscape, the power station tab would be highlighted. I'd rather the bar selection reset than to leave me somewhere I don't expect. Another reason the bar doesn't work is that it makes players scroll through the list to get to the tool they want; this is not effective in the event of an emergency or for the sake of convenience.

When you're building a park and taking care of dinosaurs and managing everything yourself, you need a fast way to get to things. A wheel helps to avoid players scrolling through their entire list just to get the demolition tool. Imagine accessing any tab with one flick of the stick in either direction. This change no doubt involves a bit a control scheme change, but the game didn't really have one for the interface anyways, Frontier just simply copied it over from the PC version (perhaps to keep both console and PCs on the same software versions).

A workable solution would be to give PC players a toggle option to use the new interface if they want, but I highly recommend this for console players specifically. My goal is to create a better ease of access and quality of life improvements for both Xbox and PS4 players.

The image to the right compares what a radial wheel could look like if implemented, the control room and map tabs are not included on the wheel because shortcut keys (button layouts) already exist for them in the game.
