Add Artwork to Galnet News to Visualize the Characters and Events

Every Galnet News update should have artwork to visualize the events, settings and important characters. Such as what does Federation, Empire, Alliance, society, culture and the celebrities look like?

Artwork makes the Elite universe more intriguing. It gives players better insight and immersion into the Elite universe.

With only textual articles, we can merely imagine what it's like.

Yes, I agree. That princess who was speaking against the empires endorsement and involvement of slavery; what does she look like.?

Is she HOT.!!! We don't know.!!!

Agree with this in principle however.......

This would be great for the injected events but would be hard to immplement for procedurely generated galnet news such as current events. Not impossible though! By having procedurely generated faces on NPC's we could also add some spice to the missions

I've been thinking about this too. The pictures wouldn't have to be very detailed or well made. I'd be fine with something along the lines of the sketches we currently see from trials. I understand it could be quite challenging and irksome for someone having to draw pictures on an almost daily basis. Either way; it would be great to add some visual impressions to the news and events.

Also, while we're on the topic of Galnet: could we add the in-game news to the website version too? (http://www.elitedangerous.com/news/galnet/) It'd be great being able to follow the events of Elite: Dangerous without requiring access to the game. It could be due to traveling, several late nights at work, or the computer suddenly breaking down.

I agree. Create 3d identikit faces like how you can customise your character in Skyrim so much .

Use that for galnet & for the BBS like the game did back in the days of yore

Yes all important Galnet news needs cool artwork. Such as art of Emperor Hengist Duval with his soon to-be wife Florence Lavigny standing together on a balcony of a futuristic palace. They wave at a huge cheering crowd.

Kind of like this Warhammer 40k artwork:

The Triumph at Ullanor, an ancient mural portraying the gathering of the Brother-Primarchs; from left-to-right: Sanguinius, Mortarion, Magnus, Angron, Jaghatai Khan, Lorgar, Rogal Dorn, Horus and Fulgrim
