Add back queue greeters

I actually like this idea. Should be an option of the ride, to make more use of the ride operator staff type. If you toggle to use a queue attendant, it gives you a perk like guests are more likely to wait in longer lines. Give them a cool animation like checking child height and waving to guests as they enter. Could also introduce rider height as a mechanic, like food choices and ride diversity. "I'm not tall enough, there aren't any rides I can go on."

I'd also like to see a rider operator on the exit station... how else is that train moving forward after it's empty?

I think they should add the guest greeter to the line and that person is used to give the operator a brake.
In sequence, the greeter gives the operator a brake. then when the operator returns the greeter go's on brake. Then the rides never shut down and every one gets a brake. As a ride greeter wouldn't cause a ride to shut down. It would only effect how long guest are willing to wait in line. ;)

Also, I see what you mean by the ride exit guy. But I rather them take the operator booth off the platforms completely and allow us to place them like a shop with a Proximity to the station. Ether snap it to the sides or above 1 tile. Then we attach the staff path to that booth directly and the ride mechanic services that booth instead of the platform.
It would make the platform less cluttered by paths because of fast pass use and allow us to make more compacted ride set ups. :)

I don't know if I should like that...

In PC1 they had one at every queue, but in real life, I think they are really rare. Many rides don't need that extra staff. Then I would prefer extra staff for checking the safety bars...

Perhaps they can AT LEAST add one as an animatronic so we can place one at the queue entrance to give the impression of one, similar to the animatronics we got with the PC1 Studios DLC

Not for this specific case, but getting the staff animatronic back would be great :)

As my wish for an complete overhaul of ride stations will probably never be planco 2 thing :(

I always thought the staff at the entrance to the queues was there to take the tickets when you charged for each ride. So now, just how does that work? Where and how do peeps buy individual tickets to the rides? And who do they give the ticket to when they enter the queue or board the ride? Or am I missing something?

uhm not anymore, you were right that people got charged by entering the queue in pc1. (i Kinda doubt the guy charged them as he didnt have any register/money change stuff on him :p)

Right now the point of charge is at the dispatch (as far as i remember, i actually tested it, but i am not sure if it was at entering the station or the dispatch, i just remember that it was not 100% timed correctly to either)

Well, normally in parks that charge per ride, you buy tickets (one ticket for a small ride, a bunch of tickets for a large ride, and so forth). So for realism sake, we should have tickets booths in game that sell tickets to rides that are individually charged for (and general admission tickets at the front gate). Or I suppose peeps in planco parks do this all on the park's app on their phones. In that case, then we need employees with scanners at the front of each queue. ;)

pssssssssssht don't give them ideas :D
or we have to buy an ingame currency to view the ride cam :p

But just selling tickets i would more think you would get them at the guest services, like the small info kiosk.

But dont you show your ticket when you enter the station not the queue? Cause i always thought this guy was a bit misplaced in PC1, i feel he should be on the station gate, assigning rows, checking tickets, heights, etc.

When to show your ticket, I suppose, depends on how each park does it. Take Disney, for example. They don't have tickets, but they do have lightning lane passes, which are on your app. You must have your app scanned BEFORE you enter the queue. This would make sense with hard copy tickets as well. If you don't have a ticket when entering the queue, you'll be turned away when you reach the station, which would cause a lot of angry peeps, possibly having waited a long time in the queue, as well as disrupting ride boarding.

And yes, adding park tickets or ride tickets to the Info Kiosk would be an alternative to adding a new ticket booth kiosk.

Don't the queue greeters also signal when a ride is closed so peeps don't enter the queue line?
Yes. At well run parks... I once entered a queue for the Sky Cabin at Knott's Berry Farm, where there was an employee standing at the front of the queue, just to find out the ride was closed. It wasn't a popular attraction, so I didn't find it odd that there was no one else in line. But I chewed the guy out for not informing me it was closed. (I'm not insinuating Knott's is poorly run. It's really a great park, but they do occasionally slip up here and there)

Why buy tickets when I can buy the unlimited rides bracelet for the over priced amount at the entrance gate ticket booth. but wait, you need that guy to collect the ride return tickets for the popular rides. with the wait time ticket dispenser.

I don’t know about all parks having a queue greeters at the beginning. But I know Disney does. I think Universal? Mostly for height requirements and info. Carnivals more for tickets purposes and height. Loved them being there in PC1. At least give us the option of having them or not.

Never seen them in a theme park, would seem like a bit of a useless job anyway? Paying someone to stand there to greet? What are entertainers for then?

From a financial point of view it makes no sense.

They're not necessary, unless guests pay to ride each attraction separately (Someone to pay or hand their ticket to). And since that is an option in PC2, then they would be necessary. ;)

I'm really not interested in there being another type of employee to keep track of. I find the existing employee system to be too micromanagement-heavy and buggy. The idea of managing greeters makes me worried it would be tedious.

When it comes to realism, I normally see greeters on rides that have an upcharge queue. Free entry parks (see Jolly Roger at Ocean City, MD) usually have the operators collect tickets or swipe cards as guests board a ride. Paid entry parks (see Hersheypark in Hershey, PA) normally have someone greeting the "fast track" line to make sure guests that use it paid to degrade everyone else's experience. I don't usually see greeters for other rides. High-end theme parks (see Universal and Disney) have greeters everywhere due to higher expectations, a lower ride count, and using greeters as information helpers and front-line security people.

Also, do not forget the unsung hero of the greeting world -- the park trash bin! Nothing quite says "ride is closed" like a trash bin sitting in the middle of where people usually enter the queue for a ride. Trash bin off to the side? Great, ride is open!

Greeters weren't managed at all in PC1, they were just part of the queue entrance, and more for aesthetics than any real purpose. They welcome guests, and if the ride was closed they waved off people. If they were to come back in PC2 I'd much rather have them perform the same simple function. I'm not into employee management myself at all, but I did like the looks of greeters in my parks...

Exactly...simple aesthetics. If your park has one entrance fee with all rides included, then they wouldn't appear when you add a queue. If each ride had an admission fee, then they would appear. Nothing to manage. Didn't we have a way to add a vendor to stand at any spot in the park in PC1, just to simulate a greeter or an employee behind a counter? Or was that an animatronic? I can't remember.
