Despite the apparent increase in HGEs (personally I can't tell the difference. Lol), it's still near impossible to find the correct G5 manufactured materials you're looking for. Cough improvised components cough
HGEs are a bit of a lottery, from whether one even spawns, to who "owns" it, to what's inside, and how many.
Missions only seem to offer 2-3 different manufactured.
Ship kills don't seem to offer hardly any G5s despite some NPC's being incredibly difficult to take down. (Spec ops!)
My suggestion is simply add a good chance that any large, Elite ranked ship will drop a G5 manufactured material or two on destruction, based on its factions BGS state, and ship type. Similar to how the HGE system works, but applied to ship drops instead.
Spec ops, and even ATR should always drop a good amount of military type G5 manufactured.
Wing assassination targets should have a very high chance to drop a good amount of mixed G5s too.
On a side note;
Does anyone ever actually want the cargo rewards from missions? (Not including the ones you can't buy).
I might be a good idea (assuming no one wants the worthless cargo) to split the rewards in to Money, Manufactured Materials, Encoded Data, Non-buyable Cargo, and Rep/Inf.
So I mission may offer you 3 of those 7 rewards. Or maybe even adjust the rewards system to allow CMDRs to pick one from all 7 choices. Or 8 if you add regular cargo back in.
Thoughts?
