The Orion Molecular Complex is currently the most fascinating area in the galaxy to travel. In part because of the many non-procedural nebulae and star clusters that are found there, but also because navigating the region can be an actual challenge, requiring a minimum of navigational skills and forethought.
Navigation is constrained by two factors, 1) some areas near the Orion Stellar Nursery have quite low star density , 2) there are many permit-locked regions, but these are not just simple spheres.
The map below illustrates how visiting an area like the Witch Head requires a bit of spatial thinking and knowledge of the lay of the land:

I really hope some of these mysterious aliens that clearly have the power to hyperdict starships and influence FSD technology will cause more of these zones to be created. And Im not talking about the existing spherical permit locket regions, but new areas that becomes more maze-like and require a bit of thought to navigate. Should these new mazes be centered on large nebulae it will enhance the effect and help with spatial understanding of the maze.
