Add some crashed megaships on planetary surfaces

Yes please!

From a 2015 dev update:
The Missing is an encompassing term for everyone who has disappeared without trace in deep space. This includes colonists on the ancient generation ships, lost colonies, disappeared scientific expeditions and a host of others. Some will know from our timeline that many thousands of ‘generation ships’ left the safety of Earth beginning in the 24th century onwards ... Some managed to return with tales of their adventures. Some were lost in deep space, the dead hulk of their ship carrying on an almost endless trajectory ever deeper into space. Others managed to land and survived for many decades before being overtaken by some local disaster. Some may still be alive, just restricted to low power light speed communications, or no comms at all, as their equipment has failed over the centuries in between. We say they have disappeared without trace, but just maybe some will find some traces of them that are still out there…

70.000 megaships are meant to be somewhere into the deep. How many have already been found by the way?

Not many, the interesting thing is all the early megaships should be somewhere in the bubble since they didn't have FTL, so a bubble few hundred light years should contain them all, at least that's what I have been led to understand. Of course how many people actually search planetary surfaces for them? There are still things we haven't found in the bubble, maybe that's what they are, unfound mysteries.

I think that logically it woud be most likely that generation ships would have crashed/landed on atmospheric Earth-likes. So this feature may not become a thing until atmospheric landings are added to the game.

Funny, cause I just found my first ever crashed ship yesterday. I've only been playing for about 6 weeks now, but I've killed a LOT of skimmers. Yesterday was the first crashed ship I've come across. I scanned it and then moved on, is there other interaction that can be done?

I think that we're talking about big ships.

Atmospheric landings are a thing at least, they are in Horizons.

Lots of the little one around, when we say megaships we are talking of a size difference between the ones that you can find at the moment like a small cabin cruiser compared to an aircraft carrier, a large aircraft carrier. A crashed megaship should leave a bump on a planetary surface that you could see from orbit! As for small ships, scanning, salvage material, pick up escape pods, that sort of thing, depends on the crash instance.

well a real good scanning system has not really be implemented to be honest, at least what should be added to the advanced planet scanner is the info on possible crashed ships or some signature or so like strange signature encountered so you know that on that planet there is something to be found what is interesting, not some dumb containers, or some silly npc outpost lol, i mean im not going to fly over the planet for hours to find nothing in the end.
