Add some external features to Stations to mark orientation.

Currently all the stations have no distinguishable marking that mark the station's orientation. Making the player experience extreme difficulty in locating a external landing pad or space port entrance.

The dodecahedron space ports with uniform grey external painting are the worst. When making relativistic motion with the station's rotational axis, it's impossible to tell which side of the station you are located.

Some more prominent landing guiding lights can solve this problem.

If you are talking about the Coriolis stations there are two important tips. Firstly the entrance will always be on the side that appears to be rotating anti-clockwise. Secondly if you lock on to the station or even just request docking permission, you will see prominent arrows on the hologram to the left indicating where the entrance is. With the other large stations it's pretty simple once you've got used to them. Smaller outposts are more difficult, but the it's just a matter of if you can see the pad indicator then head for it and if not try the other side

I've seen the things that have been mentioned but I still rely on visually locating the smoke trail of the patrol ships. They are always at the entrance. I've also had the holo not be helpful because it looked like boxes and not arrows, glitch maybe?

So I'd still want something else myself. My idea was for the flight computer to draw an approach vector. It would also help find which pad you need. Has anyone else had the pad numbers just disappear?

Something like the landing holo would help with the door too.

Pad numbers vanishing is a bug that was introduced recently. Always use the compass to the left of your radar to locate it if you didn't memorise the pad location before it flickered out.

agree it would be much clearer, its not like there is an incentive for a space station to not advertise the way in :)

there are red lights on the back and vlue/green lights on the front (entrance) to the big ones (coriolis?)

When looking at Coriolis starports from pretty much any angle you will be able to see flashing lights on the corners. The end of the starport that has flashing blue lights is the end with the entry port, the end with the red flashing lights is its opposite. This gets even easier once you notice the axis of the station's rotation.
