Add stations to Transport Rides?

Hi there,

I'm currently struggling with both the Connie Express and Monorail. Am I right in thinking these rides support multiple stations throughout the park, so guests can enter and exit the park wherever they want? If so, I haven't been able to figure out how to build that.

I don't see anything in the ride menu besides adding more monorail trains, and building a 2nd monorail ride won't let me connect it to another monorail. Help!

In build modus, you can add more stations.

PS: I had trouble building a second station, but when I raised the track I was able to place the 2the station.

Ohh I finally figured it out. For other people with this problem: You add the stations like you would add a track while you're still building the ride. I thought you had to add stations after you completed the track and they would snap on, but I guess this makes more sense. Wasn't too intuitive at first though.

Thanks for the help!

can guests travel through multiple stations with exiting?

Yes. But they will never make a full circuit. They use the transport ride to get from Point A to Point B faster than they can walk there, and don't consider it a ride in and of itself.

So, say the track is roughly circular around the perimeter of the park and you have 4 stations more or less evenly spaced. Peeps will mostly use the train to move 1 or 2 stations along but probably not 3 because 3/4 of the way around the park on the train probably takes longer than walking 1/4 in the opposite direction.

I'm going to have to play around with this a bit. It is disappointing that peeps won't ride the train for fun and only treat it as transport. So I am wondering if this can at least be somewhat manipulated by having the train as the only way to get to certain places. In other words, no paths to get somewhere. In its simplest form, something like this...a circuit around the park tile with a station right at the entrance, and then a couple of stops along the circuit with food and rides, but no linking foot paths...

I had already done this and it works. had 4 stations and no paths leading to them. AS long as there are rides and shops they will use it to get there.

Hmmm...so how about this...entrance path leads to main train station and no other paths from the main station to other areas...how badly would a gift shop at the main station kill the peeps desire to go on a ride to the other stations?

Not sure exactly - i would say give it a try. I had a whole main street area with several shops, restaurants and even a few flat rides on the edges...and the guests still get on the transport to go to the far reaches.

Peeps want to go on rides. If the only way to get on any rides is via the train, then they will use the train to get to the rides regardless of what shops you have in the entrance station. I built an entrance station like this with like 8-10 shops in it but no rides except via the train. The peeps cycled back and forth between the rides and the shops.

HOWEVER, I don't recommend building parks this way because of a strange bug with janitors and transport rides. Whenever you open a transport ride, all janitors get teleported to the park entrance. If you've given them work rosters in specific areas of the park, the janitors will try to return to their posts. But because no staff member can go on any rides (only peeps go on rides), the janitors can only get back by walking. Thus, if you don't have paths to all areas of the park, all your janitors will be stuck there at the park entrance, and litter and puke will accumulate quickly everywhere else. And the only way you can fix this is to grab each janitor with your "hand of God" control and carry each back to where he belongs, which is a pain. OTOH, if you have paths leading everywhere, the janitors will eventually find their own ways back.

In any case, there's no need to force peeps onto a transport ride. They're more than willing to use it of their own accord, PROVIDED your park design is balanced. By that I mean each area of the park has a variety of rides to appeal to all demographics. Don't put all the kiddie stuff in 1 corner and all the "big kid" stuff in another place, etc. You have to give the peeps a reason to use the transport ride, such as making it the fastest way to get between 2 or 3 widely separated rides that they want to go on. If you do that, then the transport ride is often listed as the most popular thing in the park due to the number of peeps it shuttles around.
