Pretty much what the title says. I'd love to give my staff little electric vehicles that essentially do nothing but help them get around the zoo faster.
I'd do this as a new staff building, a little garage that only has one vehicle. The vehicle can only go on paths but moves at two and a half times the speed of a staffer (less on crowded paths, maybe even more on staffer paths). I'd also make it possible to assign vehicles to either a specific staffer, making it so that only the assigned staffer can use it, or assign it to a workzone making it so that every Staffer in that workzone can use it. I'd also add an option to exclude certain staffers of certain type of staffers from using a vehicle. That's mainly to prevent your security guards from hogging the vehicles all the time. Of course a vehicle always stays exactly where the staffer leaves it. Finally i'd add an option to ban individual vehicles from moving on certain path types.
How i'd make this work is by modifiying the staffer pathfinding mechanic to include checking wether a vehicle is nearby and if there is, check wether the target can be reached faster by using that vehicle considering of course that the vehicle may only be usable for part of the journey. If it can the staffer takes this faster path.
