Additional 3D display modes (please!)

Just a quick request/suggestion. Having 3D options is already an amazing feature that not many will take advantage of (sadly), so I'm really grateful that they are in there!

But for those of us with passive (interlaced) 3D displays, the Side-by-Side method of display isn't ideal. It's a double loss of resolution, after the image has been stretched back horizontally and every second row removed. Ideally, I'd love to have an Over/Under option, or even an Interlaced option. I'd hope this wouldn't be too difficult to implement, and it would bring us 3D junkies lots of joy :)

Thanks for listening!

+1. I have one of these displays. I'm not an expert on how they work, but the universal consensus among those who are suggests a HOU option in ED is to be much preferred over SBS, for the same reasons given by the OP.

Some details. I have a somewhat middle-aged laptop, connected to an external 3D monitor. I find that the setup works quite well with ED, but only with the right graphics options. When I was first setting up and experimenting with EDs 3D mode, I found that too much information was lost to be able to read station text clearly - the vertical parts of some letters became too faded to read, depending on where they were on screen.

It took a fair amount of trial and error to get it to a readable state - and I only got there by switching on anti-aliasing options that have impacted overall performance. This is obviously not ideal. If HOU is indeed less lossy, as I'm told, it should allow me far more room to optimise the game, improving my overall experience markedly.

Since it's somewhat related, I'll add here that those using non-oculus VR still need 3D side-by-side with the aspect ratio per eye, not that of the full display. Custom aspect ratio options would be nice.

Yeah, I've been asking for this for a while, yet only real feedback has been that it isn't on priority list, it is unfortunate :(
