Additional SRVs

I like planetary stuff a lot. I would like to see 2 additional landgoing vehicles.
I would like to see some diversity. So it becomes a choice which SRVs to bring along, depending on situation (or get biggest planetary vehicle hangar and get em all, which would be a big reason to get the 4-slotter)

1. Hovercraft. Same stats as Scarab, speed, shield, armour etc, only the hovercraft is a few inches off the ground. You should still have to avoid bigger rocks.
Why? Well, some people get sick when driving the scarab, both in VR and "normal mode". That's one reason.
Plus, it would be kinda cool driving around in a hovercraft.

2. Tanky, heavy guns but slow and wide SRV. Perfect for base assaults, fighting turrets and Goliaths.
"In yer face!" should be the motto here. Maybe even equip it with (seeker) missiles in addition to lasers.

Would these make the Scarab obsolete? I don't think so. They all would provide a different experience.
Don't wanna get seasick? Hovercraft.
Wanna make those huge jumps? Scarab.
Wanna burn a base to the ground? Tanky SRV.

completely agree. I don't understand why there are 3 different SLF models, each with 4+ loadout combinations, but only one SRV... :(

Agreed. +1

A "hovercraft"-like SRV (lighter, faster, a weaker punch tho) and a tankier assault (but slower) SRV.

I would indeed love a more combat oriented SRV... very, very much so.
It could be heavier, less jumppower, a bit slower, better armoured, better armed, perhaps with two configurable hardpoints.

But I also hope FDev will someday introduce planetary mining that makes use of a specialist mining SRV.
I really, really want planetary mining.

Perhaps also an SRV with 8 tonnes of cargo space?

Agreed. More SRV variety is a must! I enjoy surface stuff, but I need an incentive to stay down there. Maybe even make a planetary base my home!

Another option might be to have a smaller, faster version of the SRV that can't take much punishment at all. (Basically like a Speeder from Star Wars and the like.)

You could fit two of them in the smallest vehicle hangar, and use them for bombing about and scooping up materials.

They could be fitted with a light weapon for defending against Skimmers, but you wouldn't have the turret mode like the Scarab does.

Shields and hull would be very weak - you wouldn't want to hang around any heavily fortified bases in one of these.
...Or perhaps you would like to be a stuntman and make a glorious distraction while your wingman flies overhead raining missiles...!
