Hi. Now i have funds i can order the standard beta version of Elite Dangerous from the on line store. The thing is when it comes to entering address into web sites i get nervous. As seen as this is a download why do you need to put your address in?.

Also will the full release be in shops or amazon etc when its done?.

You don't iirc. The address was only put in for the Kickstarter backers who were expecting physical rewards.

I had to put in my full home address even though I downloaded the premium beta. As far as I know the premium beta does not include a physical boxed copy of the game as part of the deal but a downloadable copy of the game. I don't really know why Frontier needed this information but I am not worried because as someone has already stated they are a very reputable company so I am not worried about having to give this information and I don't think anyone else should be worried about this either.

It may also require the address as part of the credit card verification.

Don't worry about it, it's probably for verification purposes and the only thing that can come of it is something nice delivered to you.

They won't share your details with anyone else anyway.

Yeah, it's a verification thing. Also I had to put my address in it, otherwise I wouldn't have received my Elite: Dangerous pin and keychain. So far, only one burly man with a cockney accent tried to steal my kidneys.
