Advanced discovery scanner issue,,

Ive just set off on another trip, but on entering systems that i have not explored yet,, im not getting the ,, automatic "1 object discovered" coming up,, and when i do an advanced scan it finds "no new objects" ,, no matter how many objects there are in the system that are undiscovered to me that i have yet to explore and scan ,,, the scanner is firing up and honking,, but its not seeing anything new,, it is an advanced scanner,, so shouldnt be a range issue,, not sure if this is relevant,, in my modules the scanner doesnt have a priority set,, and i cant set one,, so im thinking not ,, any ideas guys

After they fixed the issues with multiple honks needed, it does take a while for anything to show up. For me, it usually coincides with the FSD cooldown, so it won't discover anything until the FSD is back online.

If it finds nothing after that, I'm at a loss for an explanation.

nope,,, makes no difference if i wait for the FSD to cool,, silly question here,, but am i right in thinking that i should be getting the "X number of new objects dicovered" coming up whenever i honk and there are objects in the system that i havent dicovered and scanned before,, even when they have been discovered by someone else before me

You are completely right, they should come up. A bit strange, how many systems has this happened for, and have you checked the system maps? Mine will occasionnaly say "No new astronomical objects discovered" if the honk finishes before the main star is discovered.

EDIT: Even if everything has been discovered. Sorry, that was a bit unclear :eek:

Odd. Might be a server issue - sorry if I sound like a tech support *******, but have you tried rebooting the game to get a different server? I can't think of it being anything else tbh.

Yup, it could very well be lag. When the connection is less than optimal it can take a while for ADS / deep scan results to pop, as well as traveling time to another system and drop in/out of SC sequences can be much longer.

Could also just be that you have visited/scanned the system before? Check the GalMap to see if the system map is available before you jump to it. If it is, you've been there before (and you'll get the behaviour you describe), if not (and you still get the problem) then it's something else ...

thanks for the help here guys,, turning off and going back an hr later seems to have sorted it,, strange that,, thanks guys
