Newcomer / Intro Advanced Docking Computer

Ok the patch notes say

New Modules

  • Advanced Docking Computer - The Advanced Docking Computer provides cutting edge guidance control to the ship’s computer, offering a further launch option alongside the assisted docking function.
  • Supercruise Assist - The Supercruise Assist module allows the ship’s computer to regulate the approach towards a set location within the current system and to disengage the drive at the appropriate time . This module can also be used to enter orbit around a planetary body.
    • Planet side targets are excluded - instead they will engage the planetary orbit function of the computer, and Commanders will need to manually guide the ship to the ground destination
  • Added a new 'Flight Assistance' section to the Ship tab on the right hand panel. Here players can toggle various options on or off (if fitted with the correct modules):
    • Flight Assist
    • Auto Dock
    • Auto Launch (requires Advanced Docking Computer)
    • Rotational Correction
    • Hyperspace Dethrottle (requires the Supercruise assist module. If switched on, throttle will automatically set to zero on entry to a new system)
BUT where do I buy ADVANCED DOCKING COMPUTER.
I am in Sol System.

They are under "Flight Assist" modules in the optional section rather than individually named. Try that. I know for sure they are at Jameson's Memorial as I've just got some. Just going back to Ray Gateway in Diaguandri to check there too as it's my home.

ETA. Um... yes, flight assists, just like it says in the notes. I need to read more attentitively :oops: And yes, they are at Ray's

I was somewhat surprised to see them for sale on the Gnosis, as it didn't sell standard docking computers before.

Presumably you could also get them anywhere with a shipyard now, as stock Sidewinders have them. Just store them and sell the Sidewinder.

Well, I ran into a problem with a newly bought Sidewinder - unable to get rid of the loaned DC - when I remove it and try to buy a DC, it offers me just the loaned one for 0 credits, even the station would have all kind of flight assists in stock.

When you say "loaned", what do you mean? No ship comes with a DC as standard as far as I'm aware. Happy to be corrected though! (y)

Wow... yes, you are correct. However, I'm being given the choice of a DC for 3.7K or a loaned one for free; the loaned is the Advanced DC though, not the old DC.

Yes,but I want to replace the loaned one with a bought one - and it does not offer me to buy an ADC, because it says, it is already fitted. And when i sell the loaned ADC for nothing, the only option to buy an ADC is to get the loaned one again, even the station has proper ones in store. I just don't want to fly around with loaned stuff.

Just go to another station to buy a new ADC, your loaned one won't be available if you go to another station and don't bring it with you.

I still have loaned parts on my original Sidewinder lol.

Doesn’t make a difference, really, it just means they’re free, basically.

What does it mean when flight assist says "Hold input mode" instead of "on" like everything else. I can't change it.

Have you got the "Toggle Flight Assist" control assignment set to "hold" rather than "toggle" (the "Button Mode")?
