Newcomer / Intro advanced docking computer

Since the latest update my advanced docking computer is no longer reliable. I watched my Cutter bounce off the wall trying to leave the space stattion 11 times in a row before I took control and flew her out the mail slot. It doesn't seem to be an issue with smaller ships and it doesn't happen every time. Anyone else notice this?

Only everyone who's flying a Cutter with ADC.
Because I am partially blind in one eye the advanced docking computer helps me get the big ships through the mail slot and out of the station. I initially took your comment wrong and I apologize for doing so.

Seriously, just undock manually - it is so easy, just use thrusters, do not adjust pitch only rotation - there is a lovely icon in your radar display to show if you are high, low or in-line, it is a marker for the centre point of the dock - just look next time your ADC is bouncing you about.

Gosh - what an attitude. @Ashnak was telling you that it is a common feature when using ADC to undock a Cutter - everyone gets it.

The issue has been around a while now, it appears to be caused by thrusters in Odyssey being weaker which also shows up as an issue when flying above planets when not in level flight.

The more drift a ship is prone to the more the ADC can struggle to compensate this shows up really noticeably with the Cutter which is the king of drift, however as you noted it doesn’t happen every time probably due to not always being forced to stooge around in a queue.

I turned off the adc and did a manual departure but there was no icon on my radar. Is there something in the settings that I need to turn on?

No it is definitely there - try using a smaller ship, manually undock and move back and forth in the dock, watch for the icon appearing and changing shape and moving up and down on a stalk, just like ship icons do - however, note that its arrow shows the direction you should move in to make the icon a solid rectangle with no stalk - i.e. in line with the centre point of the dock. I'll load up an alt in a quiet station and try to make a video of what I am describing,

A simple workaround, as soon as you undock if there is a ship shown in front of you select it and you will scan it, if it goes out of scan angle and another one appears scan that as well, do not override the ADC while doing this, for some reason unknown to me my cutter will find the mailslot mostly without problems.
