When you've got gold for research on an animal, is there any point in continuing with "advanced research"?

I stopped all mine, although some did stray into advancements.

I was reading an animal card, and checking the mate %. I seen it say there was a boost from advanced research of an animal that your trying to breed. The one I was looking at said a 30% boost from advanced research. (though, they all died from old age, and no babies..lol)
