Advice for facing multiple targets?

Howdy everyone, just finally picked up my Premium Beta today, and got a chance to play some of the single player and I must say...

The game is incredibly tight for the stage it is at, I really like some of the mechanics and directions they're going with it - I've especially enjoyed the visuals of having my cockpit blown out. All of this said, there is definitely a learning curve, I get my backside handed to me if I'm anything other than one on one. Being so new to the game I'm curious if anyone might have pointers - I use an X52 flight stick, and I feel like I've got the controls mapped out perfectly for what I'm used to, so that's good.

I can get one guy down, but in the mean time the rest just chew me up in no time.

Hullo,

There's already a thread with some good advice on this here: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=14734

welcome aboard!

you mean the fighters i suppose(recon wing) well you have to give more power to your shields and weapons, destroy their shields asap and fire a missile when the shields are down. When you've fired the missile dont check if it got the job done, select another target, while turning keep your throttle in the blue part, it will turn more rapidely, check your target holo projection+scanner position to guess where it's going and move backwards or strafe to one side if necessary, like when it tries to turn around you and you cant face him because you're too close...

Try silent running , did 1 of the missions whit 4 fed ships and they dident even fire at me ones :) 4 missiles and kapow , moving on to next :) dont matter if they turn red if they cant find me :D

Fly in reverse. Simple as that really.

I found that full reverse is pretty much equal to the Recon ships forward momentum, keep about 2000m distance, full power to weapons and take down your targets shields then fire a missile. Rinse and repeat three more times and job done.

Do not underestimate the power of reverse flying :)
