Ships Advice on Beluga Modules

For me I like to A-rate the Power Plant (runs cooler) and the Power Distributer(that way I get a response from the gas pedal more often). A-rate the FSD and D-rate everythine else (for better jump range). I also put in as may fuel tanks as I could. I also didn't have boosters or weapons on mine. I ran rather then fought. This to for jump range and lighter shields for jump range.

Hi

Thank you vary much for taking the time to look at my ship and advising. I'll certainly consider doing as you say. :)

Hi

Just brought myself a Beluga Liner, with the aim of making as much money as possible doing passenger missions, such as sight-seeing tours.

I have made a few adjustments to the basic set up, and would liek to hear any advice from Beluga pilots, or indeed anybody else. I'd like to try and increase the jump range if possible. I would like to keep the SRV hangar.

Thank you

Wha? Taking it to D-class modules and a proper FSD gets you a jump range of 23-25. Even more with a A-rated PP a size down. Fiddling a bit more gets you 24-25. This is actually an undersized tank, which could be bad in some scenarios.

Also, for weapons, you can either drop them, or take a mining laser. If a ship is not built for combat, I just run away from anything. Maybe go with mines, or turrets? But I don't see fixed pulse lasers being very beneficial.

If you take a SRV and mining laser, you can get materials from belts and planets, for FSD boosts. Also, if you go with LONG range hauls, you can switch out for a pair of AFMU (I like class B- cheap/ammo-count) and maybe a hull reinforce. I'd trade in any empty cabins for those things, if you get a long mission.

Are you going for long range sightseeing missions (1000+lyr)? There are others that are relatively short. Would affect optimal config.

Be aware that each sightseeing passenger mission grabs an entire cabin. For what you posted on coriolis, you could run 4 missions at any one time.

Don't put additional tanks in it, the basic one is already too large. You may keep it as is, or save 64 tons by reducing its size - 64t should still allow you 5 jumps or so.

And go for the 6A scoop - quuck dive at the stars saves you time and heat.

I would also change your life support from E rated to D. You will half the weight and get a decent increase to your jump range for a very reasonable cost. One thing you will find, never leave the E rated stuff on the ship.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to offer your advice. I'll certainly look into it when I get back to my home port.
