Newcomer / Intro Advice on how to find "High Intensity Resource Extraction Site"

Hey all. I'm new to the game, and I followed some of the advice in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQJZMW33KCQ) and made like 200k credits. I got greedy and started looking around more and ended up running out of fuel. Now I'm at Haxel port, and it won't let me route to Brani, and I'm not sure how to get back to a system that matches the profiles of 'high intensity resource extraction site'. I'd like to go back and make a bit more and buy a Viper or a little bit better ship than the sidewinder. Any advice on how to use a tool to find a nearby planet with a 'high intensity resource exctration site'?

Resource Extraction Sites (RES for short), and ranked low, medium (unlabeled), high, and hazardous.

CZs (Combat Zones) are ranked low and high intensity.

I think what you are looking for is a high intensity CZ. :)

Haxel Port is in LTT 15574 IIRC. That's normally two jumps from Brani. If you can't make that jump, it's because you don't have enough jump range. Go to outfitting and get a class 2C frame shift drive, then upgrade your power plant, power distributor, sensors, life support and shields to D grade, which will lighten your ship. Get rid of any other optional modules you have, then you should be able to make the jump. Don't worry about spending your money. you can get it back in about 10 minutes in the high RES in Brani.

As said above, look for systems that have ringed planets. It is usual for them to have Res Sites, and usually you will find a High Res Site among them. You won't see them until you fly there, though. Jump to the system and scan the Nav Beacon (target Nav Beacon and jump out there first, then look for the nav beacon itself (a white or grey diamond) and target it, your scanner will start working and you will have data for the system). As you fly towards the closest ringed planet, Res Sites should start to show up. Target one and jump into it when you get close (in the usual way).

Also, take a look through this thread currently running : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/379903-resource-extraction-site
