Advice on how to interdict

Hi guys,

Has anything changed with interdiction with the 2.2 update?

I'm a very casual, on and off player but managed to interdict targets maybe 2/3 of the time in the last 2 weeks since I've been playing again.

I've now tried 8 times against a variety of targets without a single success.

I only have a Cobra III with a 2E FSDI so nothing great but I don't get why I can't do it any more. In fact I'm not even close. Their red bar goes up constantly no matter how close I keep them in the target.

Makes finding targets very frustrating and boring as they always get away.

I haven't tried interdicting in 2.2, but some general advice would be to make sure that your throttle is in the blue zone when interdicting (same as trying to escape an interdiction). Use all 3 axes of movement to your advantage to center the target. Last, make sure the target won't have a chance of slamming into a planet, as that is an automatic loss for the interdictor.

It is possible the interdiction mechanics were tweaked, as a lot of players were upset with interdictions in 2.1; though some of this frustration was due to a bug which made it impossible to win the minigame if you were the one being interdicted.

Thanks for those tips.

Has anyone else noticed anything?

I'd love to know if anything else like Class, Rating, proximity to target before attempt, etc have any affect on making the mini game easier.

I could spend more money on a better one, but I can't afford to if it only affects range (I never find range to be an issue) but I definitely would if it sped up or helped the mini game.

Thanks
