Ships Advice on pinning blueprints.

Looking to pin some blueprints for remote engineering as I go round unlocking engineers. Trying to pick things that Intgink will be useful for the majority of builds. Here is my list so far.
Thrusters - dirty drag, which sounds more like a fetish than an engineering mod, but seems to be the current meta.
FSD - increased range. I could pin another as both Elvira and Felicity do these to G5, is fast charge useful?
PD - charge enhanced.
PP - overcharged.
Armour - heavy duty.
Life Support - light weight.
Sensors - long range.
Shields and shield boosters is the thing that has got me puzzled. There are so many combos. Thinking maybe go for heavy duty on the boosters and reinforced on the shields.
For weapons I am going with efficient on MC and lasers for now. Haven’t started to look at the others yet.
Any advice?

is fast charge useful
There is no "fast charge" upgrade. I guess you mean the Faster Boot Sequence upgrade, which reduces the boot time when powering up the FSD after it's been powered down.

Here's the description: "This blueprint speeds up boot up times and gives a small range increase, at the cost of module integrity and power draw. "

It has limited usefulness, mostly for combat ships that actually power down the FSD when hardpoints are deployed.

Yes fast boot, although it does say “frame shift drive charging” when you engage it, hence my confusion. Well I might pin that one. It is only because the other things that Felicity and Elvira offer are all less than grade 5 and are available to pin elsewhere.

My pins:

Initial stages:
Elvira: G5 FSD increase range and Felicity: G3 Dirty Drives.

Later on:
FSD: G5 increased Range (Felicity)
Thrusters: G5 Dirty Drives and G5 Clean drives (Palin and Chloe)
PD: G5 Charge Enhanced (The Dweller)
PP: G5 Armoured (Hera), G4 Overcharged (Marco)
Sensors: G5 Light Weight and G5 Long Range (Tiana and Juri)
Life Support: G5 Light Weight (Etienne)
Hull: G5 Heavy Duty (Selene)
Shields: G5 reinforced (Lei)
Shield Booster: G5 Heavy Duty (Didi)
HRP: G5 Heavy Duty (Petra)
SCB: G4 Specialized (Mel) and G3 Rapid (Lori)
Beams: G5 efficient (Broo)
MC: G5 Overcharged (Marsha) - optional 2nd blueprint at Tod
Rails: G5 Long range (Tod)
Seekers: High Capacity (Liz)
Frags: G5 overcharge (Zacariah)
Interdictor: G4 Expanded / Long range (Colonel) - debatable

Wildcards

Elvira: FSD: G5 shielded or fast boot - debatable OR Shields: G3 Enhanced Low Power
Bill: Plasma: G5 Efficient OR DSS: G5 Expanded Radius
Sarge: Collectors: G5 Lightweight OR Cannons: G5 LongRange (or something)
Ram: whatever Chaff / Heat Sinks - lightweight or increased amo - usually i pin one and engineer some to have them ready

It's really a matter of preference... :)

Regarding shields and boosters, I tend not to go for shield tanks, so my pinned blueprints there are Thermal Resistant for shields and Resistance Augmented for boosters. I tend to use a lot of Bi-Weave shields as I like the faster recharge, and under most combat situations they work fine for me.

Weapons wise I tend to use the Efficient mod for lasers and the Overcharged for Multi Canons.

I also use Lightweight mods for Sensors and Life Support as I like my ships to go fast. :)

And while it's not to do with pinning, I use experimental effects to balance out (enhance) some of the mods I use a lot like Super Capacitors for shield boosters so I give up a little bit of the gained resistance for a little bit of overall shield boost.

Yeap, this shield approach is more universal since it can offer decent results without a visit to the engineer.
But as you said, it's a matter of preference. I ram a lot and i like my shields as strong as possible and i always tour the engineers to apply the experimentals so adding thermal on shield boosters is part of this visit :)
