Newcomer / Intro Advice Please - Mining Question

Hi all

I have been out of the game for 12 months and just returned so thought I would plot my carrier and go to Colonia (never been).

On the way I wanted to do some mining and found a planet with 3 x double hotspot Platinum and I thought great.......

Now despite me firing off over 600 prospectors and being smack bang in the middle of the overlap I did not find any Platinum.

Has something changed or am I doing something wrong?

Any advice would be appreciated.

There are two types of rings with Platinum hotspots, metal rich and metallic rings, metal rich has Platinum only in cores, metallic has laserable rocks that contain platinum. you are in a metal rich ring.

Sounds really strange, never not found any plat in a hotspot
