Greetings commanders, im currently rating 2 with 770 merits waiting for this cycle to end, where i will qualify for rating 3. Baring Merit Decay in mind should i stick with 770 merits right now until next cycle or should i go get some more, what would you do?

Go get some more! There are so many options that can earn you merits while meaningfully aiding the Hudson cause... operating in a wing will guaranteed earn you rank four before the cycletick ticks. Follow the two links here or visit r/elitehudson.

Thank you for that, i guess i need to keep an eye out for the next assault in order to gain some real merits? Prep is prep, fortifying is fortifying, need some action in a pack.

If you mean Military Strikes you can fight against Patreus in the Military Strikes at his expansion in 23 Delta Piscis Austrini - plenty of merits to be got there. :)

Yes the expansion will be ongoing for the rest of this cycle (Thursday, 7:00am GMT). As long as you hand in your merits at a control system of your choice before the end of the cycle you can farm ahead ;)

Not sure what the status currently is, but last night we were ahead by just a bit.
Did well, cashed in merits, went back, and joined an instance where the imperials heavily outnumbered the resistance.
I tried, but ended up limping away.

This is best done in a wing. Your merits are multiplied (rather than credits divided like a RES). You can also watch each other's back when it heats up. There's not much besides a wingman that can help when your thrusters malfunction due to 4 rail gun toting marksmen in eagles deciding it's target shooting time.

Im finding it a bit tedious tbh, it took a lot of work to get to 1050 merits this week so ive left it there, i should be rated 3 in a few hours, will give it another push to 1500 this next cycle but in the next couple of weeks i will need to attend a strike and wing up with someone so i can understand how to earn faster merits.
