Advice wanted on passenger rescue missions

I have never done these before.
I guess I just fill my Annie with cabins, and go to the Pleiades and look for burning stations.
Would it be better to buy a dolphin or is the Annie as good?
I am hoping to pick up some mats too, esp cracked my industrial firmware.
Any advice on where to go, and what to do would be great.

Depends on how good you are at flying the Conda in and out of the station in a hurry. I got hung up a couple of times because I forgot to put up the landing gear. Even though I got stuck for only a few seconds it made the trip a little more tense. I'm not sure if people still do the rescue missions but back when it started there was a wait for the large landing pad at the rescue ship. It only has one. But that might not be an issue now. Also people switch to solo.

I refit my python for rescue missions. It's small enough to get in and out of the station (there's debris inside the station FYI) and it can hold a lot of passengers.

We did a whole show on this awhile back and everyone had different ships - all you really need is a ship with Econ Cabins.

Note: Bigger ships can be harder to get in and out of the wreckage. Get heatsinks too!

If you find any CIF, can you let us all know, it's now as rare as rocking horse poop. Take a couple of heat sinks, you'll need them

Anaconda is great for those missions, as is any ship which can carry economy passenger cabins. The basic requirement is to be able to manually dock quickly.

Make sure you have a heat sink.

I'm pretty sure I've had several CIF from those missions. Also MEF.

I only done this once, it was with type 10 and very scary getting punted around by debris but fun! I would suggest Orca as the ideal ship, but really if I can do it in a type 10 any ship should be fine (I'm an average pilot at best)

The passenger rescue part of these is easy. The Anaconda is an excellent choice for doing those. You can fly out there empty with just a Fuel Scoop and Heat Sinks and buy the Economy cabins you will need from the Rescue Ship when you get out there.

The stations are in bad shape so no Docking Computer option. You need to manually land your Conda on the designated pad once inside the barrel. Don't waste time since the heat build up is intense and you will start to overheat the second you get inside.

Because of this, you will need at least one bank of Heat Sinks to deal with the heat inside the docking bay. I suggest equipping at least 2 banks (Running one bank at a time of course and assign the launch command to a HotKey on your keyboard vs using the UI since speed is vital).

These are not as vital for the passenger missions, but if you want to take on any of the salvage missions you are definitely going to need heat sinks. Heat Sinks are also available from the Rescue Ship's Outfitting bay.

A 5A Collector Limpet module is also a good idea for the salvage missions, since the 5A runs the limpets the fastest and you can run 3 at a time.

Well I went there and tried it.
The stations are no longer burning, and not so many people wanting to be evacuated.
There are still rescue missions, but not as many.
The mission rewards mats, are about the same as I find anywhere.
there are cracked industrial firmware being offered, but again it's about the same drop rate as any station anywhere.

Yeah... I forgot to mention that there was a good chance that you would be too late for this latest round of attacked stations. But, I am sure there will be another batch coming up on Thursday, so I would keep an eye out for those.

You haven't really experienced this whole thing at its most intense yet. You need to get out there within the first 48 hours or so of the news.

The stations that are burning change each week, but you can find them via the Galaxy Map. In the options there is now a checkbox to show icons for stations under attack and under repair. The events are on-going, so you can do them any time.
