AFM with Battery

Thinking about the AFM not being able to repair the Power Supply, could we not have an AFM with it's own power supply, it would make sense, the guys out in the Black exploring are slowly getting their Power supply degrade through visiting Neutron stars and dropping too close to planets getting hauled out of space by nature itself and can fix everything except the PP.
It could be expensive or bigger or whatever but it would be nice to be able to stay out a bit longer by getting the PP fixed in the field... just a thought (wish)

I think a lot of us would like to be able to repair the power plant in the field, but I believe this is a design decision. FDev have deliberately left one module that keeps a requirement to dock.

I'm okay either way but if I had to express a preference I'd probably want some way to repair it that could not be used effectively in combat.

Well, you'd have to turn it off leaving you vulnerable... and if the repair took a lot longer than other repairs it would be of no real benefit to combatants, alternatively have it fitted into a hardpoint! after all very few Explorers waste weight on guns that they'll never use.
