African and Indian Animal Packs

As the Southeast Asia Animal Pack is adding new animals without adding a new theme (as they can fit with the East Asia theme already in the game), I thought if people would like Frontier to do the same with African and Indian animals, at some point. Following the current list of seven habitat and one exhibit species, here are the species that I would like to see:

African Animal Pack;
  1. Eastern black rhinoceros/Southern white rhinoceros - an African rhino species is requested all the time
  2. Meerkat - another highly requested animal
  3. Red river hog - one of my favourite animals
  4. Eastern black-and-white colobus - a very iconic African primate
  5. Secretarybird - an iconic African bird
  6. Abyssinian ground hornbill - the game needs more birds and a ground hornbill would make for a unique addition
  7. African spurred tortoise - another popular African species
  8. Madagascar hissing cockroach - I think that this would be a fun exhibit species to have.

Indian Animal Pack;
  1. Northwestern/Southeastern blackbuck - I think an Asian antelope would make for a nice addition
  2. Indian leopard - the game could do with a leopard subspecies
  3. Lion-tailed macaque - an endangered species endemic to India
  4. Mishmi takin - I would love to see one of the takin subspecies in the game
  5. Painted stork - the game is lacking birds so any chance for new ones would be welcomed
  6. Black-headed ibis - again, more unique birds are needed
  7. Mugger crocodile - nothing wrong with another crocodile
  8. King cobra - an interesting snake for the exhibits.

I apologise if these sort of lists have been suggested already, but I thought it would be fun to see what everyone else thought.

I myself would like 4 more packs, and then random-animal-chaos packs or releases!

First I would like is an African Pack, then an North American Pack, then a bird-pack with also bird-cages and stuff, then an aquatic pack with aquariums, after that I want just random animals that don't belong together but which didn't fit into the already produced packs, such as more Australian, Arctic, Asian, African and South American animals.

If they would release an European animal pack, I'm probably not interested.

The African pack is very likely to happen. I could easily think of 2 or maybe even 3 African packs, and I can't wait to have more African animals.

Your Indian pack proposal also has animals I'd like to have, like the blackbuck, the cobra and a species of leopard. The takin could also work for me. However, I would prefer that these animals come through other packs with animals from other areas too.

Africa is pretty much going to happen. White and black rhinos and meerkats are probably the most popular requested species. I'm hoping we get more birds like the shoebill, southern ground hornbill and maribou stork. They'd be pretty easy to make since the skeletons for the flamingo and cassowary exist already. I really hope at some point after an Africa pack we get a Madagascar pack that includes the sifaka, panther chameleon, fossa, rodrigues flying fox, aye-aye and madagascan fish eagle.

If there will ever be an African pack, I assume, they might include...

1. Black or White Rhino
2. Black-and-white colobus or Hamadryas baboon
3. African penguin
4. South African fur seal
5. Shoebill or Lesser flamingo or Secretarybird
6. Greater or Lesser Kudu (or another antelope or maybe another Zebra)

I'm not sure about the meerkat, as for the digging...

The only way an African pack won't happen is if they do a desert pack instead and they bring in the meerkats and Fennec foxes, and the rhino some other way (or do they live in deserts?) Even then there's easily enough for an African pack, it would just be different "star" animals.

If they did get those three animals done in some other pack, I could absolutely see Africa being the final pack of next year, maybe the final pack of the game as well.

Right now I think a strong pack would be:

Fennec Fox
Meerkat
African Rhino
Cape African Penguin
Black Backed Jackal
Red River Hog
Crested/Cape Porcupine
+ Exhibit animal

but if they got those three out of the way I could see the other three animals being the other Rhino, African Leopard, Masai Giraffe and a couple of the wading or ground oriented birds even without flying mechanics - Shoebill, Secretary Bird, Marabou Stork, Grey Crowned Crane, seem the most likely to choose from.

Masai Giraffe being one of the 8 would be such a cheap and stupid choice, given the limited animals and the amount of UNIQUE african animals we still need.

Oh, I think both an African pack and a desert pack can happen and for me, chances are high. A desert pack can focus on the deserts of Africa, but also Asia and America (Przewalski horse, armadillo...). Then, an African pack with a rhino and a leopard is strong enough even if meerkats come in the desert pack.

You're welcome to your opinion of course. But if it ends up being one the later packs of the series, I personally wouldn't see an issue with including one reskin of a different subspecies.

Yeah I was thinking if they did a desert pack here soon, we could get Meerkat, Fennec Fox, Coyote, Dromedary, a Cobra species and.....googles if Rhinos live in deserts HEY Black Rhinos do live in deserts. There you go!

Meerkat's are a given, surely! Just a case of time and they could put it in anything form Popular Fan Favourites DLC to Africa Legends DLC to Burrowing Animals DLC to Rodents DLC.... You know what..... Meerkats are coming because it's just idiotic to not have them in the game 😂

I just remembered the New World theme, therefore a New World Animal Pack could be possible to introduce more North and South American species to the game. So, here are my suggestions for this other pack:

  1. Giant armadillo - I think everyone would want an armadillo in the game, and I think the largest would be easiest to implement into the game
  2. Californian sea lion - an iconic North American species
  3. South American coati/Western mountain coati - I think a coati would be fun to have in the game
  4. Nicaraguan spider monkey - I know that I've put a primate on every list, but I think the game needs more primates outside of Africa
  5. American alligator - there is an alligator decoration in the game, so it makes sense to actually have the animal
  6. Helmeted curassow - any curassow would be welcomed in my book
  7. Whooping crane - more birds are needed
  8. Dyeing poison frog - I know that there are two poison frogs already in the game, but they are such interesting frogs that I couldn't help but include one.

Sorry for shoving another list of animals, but when I remembered the New World theme, I had to create another list for it.

Really enjoying some of these suggestions! It's so fun to see what everyone else is hoping for. Since the Southeast Asia animal pack was announced, I've been excited--but also a bit disappointed about the DLCs that have come before with only a few animals each. They've been gorgeous animals, but I would definitely have loved more for each pack. Especially the Australian DLC, since I'm Australian and it's so nice to see our animals and foliage in the game.

I've been thinking about how much I'd love an Oceania animal DLC (so as to include New Zealand species too), so I've got a little list put together. I think I'd especially love to see, in no particular order:

1. Yellow-footed rock-wallaby.
2. Kiwi.
3. a seal or sealion (Australian fur seal, New Zealand fur seal, Australian sealion, New Zealand sealion--any is good, but a New Zealand species probably needs the love!)
4. Little (or fairy) penguin.
5. Tasmanian devil.
6. Echidna.
7. Brolga.

Alternatives I'd also be happy to see would be: perentie (a nice second option for monitors, like the nile monitor); tree-kangaroo (any kind); or black swan (maybe an odd choice, but a common species to see in parks etc. much like the peafowl, and I'd love to see them gliding across ponds in Planet Zoo). As for exhibit species, I think my first choice would be the corroboree frog!

An African pack would be cool and in addition, since we haven't had a DLC yet, but I would also like a European and North American DLC, I would also like a Mustelid or a Rodent or an Equine. On the other hand, the Indian pack I don't think we will have it because we already have an Asia-East Pack. Instead of the hissing cockroach from Madagascar, I will choose the black Mamba.

Honestly, I think both Africa and India (and Asia overall) are over-represented so far in comparison to other regions. Australia is especially underrepresented North America less so but still less well represented than Africa or India. South America and Europe would also benefit from some additions. That said, a biome or conservation based pack could easily include more animals from those regions.

The Indian Leopard would make an excellent addition to the game

What about the nilgai and gaur?

For an Indian pack, some other possible suggestions could be Gaur, maybe Water Buffalo, Sambar or Barasingha deer, Axis (Chital) deer, Nilgai, Nilgiri Tahr, Sarus Crane, Hanuman Langurs and maybe Rhesus Macaque.

And as originally suggested, I would to have the Lion Tailed Macaque for the game. And I think the takin is a great suggestion too.

Should a takin be considered an Indian animal? I'm not saying they'd be cool but you know.
