African Dream/Nightmare DLC

Taking the idea from the thread @Bearcat9948 did for the Asian animals release, because I actually found it fun - thanks to them for coming up with the theme. At this point primarly flying birds have not been confirmed to be in the game so we would want to leave those out, however birds that are more terrestrial or wading would be acceptable (even if in the real world they can fly). I'm not too concerned about the exhibit animal but feel free to add them in if you'd like.

Another gazelle (I wouldn't even have included two of them, I'd have rather included the blackbuck instead of springbok or Thomson's)
White ruffed lemur (if they add another lemur please a sifaka or something different from the in game one)

Not getting meerkats would be kind of nightmare also. However I wouldn't be mad at another zebra, I think Grevy's zebra are really beautiful, so I'll be fine with them

For me the dream pack would be:
1) Meerkat- let’s face it this animal is a must.
2) White Rhino
3) Black Rhino a zoo game without both African rhino species no way. Both should have been in base game.
4) Hamadryas Baboon
5) Secretary Bird
6) Fennec Fox
7) Dromedary Camel- I really believe we’re getting one.
8) Exhibit Any
Nightmare- Don’t really have one I guess I’m not to keen on a zebra subspecies. Blue wildebeest or Masai giraffe I really don’t mind. The funny thing here is a lot of people were asking for more simple reskin animals and now that frontier is listening people are already complaining.

The funny thing here is a lot of people were asking for more simple reskin animals and now that frontier is listening people are already complaining.

To be honest, I do not mind reskins as long as they are visually different enough, but to have for example 2 lion species? What would be the difference, basically just a name. It would be a reskin to the truest sense of that world.
But there is not an animal that I do not like from the new DLC. Each of them is reasonably different.

I think some of that comes into the long term new content of the game. Reskins and similar subspecies are more acceptable at 8 animals a pack than 5. Less so if the game only has around 5 packs left. On the other hand, if the game has years of content left and we get another dozen packs, I'm more than open to a second lion or giraffe. Just not at this point.

I do think I'm African antelope'd out though.

Dream Pack: Generuk, African Porcupine, Fossa, Ratel, Serval, and Secretary bird. By far my most wanted african animals.

Nightmare Pack: More variety of Lions, Giraffes, Nile crocodile and other almost-copies-of-existing-animals-already-in-the-game, waste of space, people who want that are insane.

@FoxyDee I understand. I would love another lion subspecies as long as it wasn’t a exact reskin. As some lion subspecies do genuinely look different.

Katanga Lion known for the parted mane look in captive specimens.

Barbary lion and Asiatic lions subtle differences once again.

Anyway I do have my doubts another lion will make the roster. I think we’re far more likely to get a jackal,zebra,giraffe, or wildebeest imo. Although on second thought a Grevy Zebra might be neat.

4. Giraffe subspecies (similar as the lion)
5. Zebra subspecies (similar as the lion)
6. Serval (looks more like a pet, personally know a few who own a Savannah cat)
7. Striped Hyena (with the African Wild Dog and the Spotted Hyena, not much appeal to me)
8. Exhibit is not a big deal for me. If i don't like it, i don't use it.

3. Ratel/Honey Badger - a fierce little animal that can scare Lions
4. Zebra (any) - I'd love another species
5. African Leopard - I prefer the Indian, but this is good. Plus, it's important to complete the Big 5
6. Fossa - our "small cat"
7. Caracal - our real small cat
8. Black Mamba - I prefer the Spitting Cobra, but this snake is more iconic

Nightmare (not really, but less tolerable):

1. Jackal (any) - I like them, but they'd be redundant with Hyenas and African Wild Dogs
2. Giraffe (any) - all are more or less the same
3. Dromedary Camel - I like them, but I'd prefer the other 8
4. No Rhino - obvious
5. No Primate - despite not having primates on my dream list, at the same time no primates would be a waste
6. Nile Crocodile - we have the Saltie, so that's ok
7. Antelope (any) - I love them, but we have so many there's no point
8. Anything that isn't Black Mamba or Red Spitting Cobra

2. Slender-Tailed Meerkat
3. Secretary Bird

1. Another Lion (Would much rather have Frontier completely redo the current Lion model)

The nightmare would be the subspecies craze that Zoo Tycoon for XBox had.

Gerenuk's are so bizarre and special, every (game) zoo should have them! They are by far my favorite missing antelope/gazelle, the only other antelope I would still like would be the waterbuck and blackbuck, and of course the SAIGA, but that is an Asian antelope, and the most bizarre antelope of all time.

Not to get too offtrack but yes....they padded the marketing with the animal count and you had something like 12 lions and 40000 bears. And no giant pandas /unforgiveable/

In case of antilopes I also would not have a problem with the dikdik. They are really cute.

Like others have already written, I would not like to have more lions, zebras or giraffes.
