African Spurred Tortoise

They're high up on my wishlist. I've seen them at nearly every zoo I've been to and I miss them in-game.

I think I mentioned this elsewhere recently, but they're probably the #1 specific species I constantly find myself wishing I could insert into various smaller areas I've built around.

I think maybe african spurred tortoise could be in potentional desert animal pack, as it would be one of those easier to make animals that does not require new rig or animation that animal packs have. But i hope we will see it one day.

Not on my personal wishlist but I'd be happy with this, its different from the other tortoises we have and its a pretty popular zoo animal.

If we going get another reptile or tortoise it have to be the african spurred tortoise! they are my fav tortoise and I need them they probably one of the most common tortoise out there! and they looks so different then the in game tortoises! frontier give us those cuties!

I just watch a video from a Spanish zoo that keeps both Aldabra and African spurred tortoise and they have moved them to their winter enclosures. They explain that they have infrared light for the African spurred tortoise because they need a dryer, warmer climate, while they pour artificial rain for the Aldabra tortoises because they need a more humid environmment. This difference in biomes is why we need a non tropical tortoise in game!

I relate to this feeling. Plus I'd love to have a desert tortoise. The 2 we have are tropical.

Literally just did it again. What can I do with this stretch in front of my desert building? Oh, I know, I can-

I guess Aldabras actually might work in this instance (it's outside the desert house, so it doesn't have to be 100% on theme), but I'm not happy with having to do substitutions in general. I'm just grateful we got the caracal so I could fill in the last hole inside the house that I thought I'd have to bite the bullet and stick Aldabras into.

Aren't the in-game tortoises actually closer in size to the African spurred?

In any case, I'd like it. It comes second to the leopard tortoise for me, though, due to the latter being more common in zoos I'm familiar with, but I'd still take the spurred.

Throwing in support for this tortoise, possibly the most commonly kept giant tortoise in my area and it looks different enough from these two we already have.

Apparently Shepreth Wildlife Park has them and we know Frontier likes going to this zoo for research and making videos for DLC releases, so there's still a chance to get this tortoise.

It'd be nice to have a tortoise from a different biome for sure. It's one of the only species we had in Zoo Tycoon 2 that hasn't found it's way into Planet Zoo yet. I hope someday we get those last missing animals from that game too.

Edit: I just checked that roster and we are missing quite a few animals from African adventure. I still hope we'll get all of em someday, AA featured nice animals and a lot of folks would get some nostalgic feelings for em too.

Gerenuk, ratel, African spurred tortoise, secretary bird, gelada, black rhino (I know it had the white rhino but the black was in zt2 base game) would all be amazing in this game, I’ll even through in the Barbary macaque, Ethiopian wolf, and masai giraffe for variation

A personal preference for me would be the Sumatran Tiger as well, they are too common (in zoos) not to be included
