After 2.2 Update my key bind file has gone

It took me a while to gte the 2.2 update working, as it kept crashing, so had to use the alternative method to get it working.

Finally got it sorted and installed, started the game, jumped into my ship, fired up VA and my Hotas and.....nothing. The custom keybind file that I have been building to work with my own custom profile for VA has gone.

It has defaulted to keyboard and the their is an HOTAS in the list, but there are none of my keybinds in there. I have a backup from months ago, but that doesn't include some new elements I added over the whole Beta testing process.

Is there anyway to get these back, I know in the early days, this was an issue with new versions removing key bind files, but this is way in and should not still be an issue.

I am        off about this and have just shut down as there is no way I can remember all the keys again and starting mapping is not my idea of playing 2.2

I'm having a similar issue. My bindings are there but my Saitek X52 pro analog axes will not work. I've tried every trick in the book, aka reinstall drivers, restart everything etc. nothing is working.

I did save my bind file, but oddly it only 'saved' my throttle settings on re-import. Had to rebuild the joystick. (shrugs)

In what is supposed to be a AAA title, this should not happen. I cant remember any other game I have played, where the key binds disappear after a patch, unless they overhaul the whole keyboard mapping routine.

They could create a small install routine, which backs it up, prior to install and then drops it back after update, not wipe it out inconsistently and then expect people to use reddit posts to remember to backup something up, that should not be affected by an update. The file is called "Custom" and is not a generic bind. I could understand the default setting dropping back in, but not removing the custom files in the directory, which they know people have created. That's just lazy programming

2.2 installed after a number of problems with the install, which are even documented on their help section!!! And then, not being able to play, as it wipes out key binds. Bravo Frontier, way to go on launch day!
