After 3.0......

LOL to anything starting with will the Anaconda be relegated to ...

How many people are still doing a lot of trading? Three years ago when I made my trade Elite, it was the most profitable activity in the game, but that hasn't been true for quite some time. Not considering the various exploits which have come and gone, Frontier finally made regular missions activities as profitable as trading and they usually do not required a fully dedicated trading ship.

I own and fly all the ships, but I probably spend the most time in my Python.

They all have advantages and disadvantages so it just comes down to what you like to do and what you like to fly. The Python can do everything well and still use Outposts. I like it for that reason. A rated and Engineered it is survivable and capable. A great Mission runner.

I'm not into PvP so if I get interdicted I just jump out. Obviously, those who like PvP will like other ships as the Python is no longer viable in that role up against a dedicated PvP build. In a PvP encounter, survivable is all I really want/need.'

I do like to change things up a lot and will use the Cutter for trade and Missions. I also like to use an Orca for passenger runs and an iCouier for data deliveries. I also hop into a Cobra for old times sake, and use Haulers and a DBX for taxi service. I have T series ships but don't use them very often as I just like the speed and versatility of other ships better.

Fly what you like, there's a place for all the ships.

And with an extra 256 tons of cargo space, well... it way outhauls my not-stripped down, anyone please shoot me-I love 20m rebuys, nothing but cargo racks Cutter by quite a bit.

Yeah, the cost-benefit for type-9 is pretty okay now. The problems will manifest again when the next large haul ship comes along and type-9 is displaced and we're back to "but type-9, which is hilariously cheap to operate, never mind lose, is not able to outpace panther clipper; Frontier you are the suck" type commentary that'll absolutely happen.

Speaking of commentary that'll happen; I'm really expecting just a whole lot of "dear frontier I died using my type-9 with even less hull and shields than cutter and this is intolerable" that'll occur post 3.0. Never mind that rebuy is about 1/5th cutter.

Trade in whatever you enjoy trading it. Doesn't need to be the biggest. I think the fun part of trading is discovering high profit routes, not the actual amount you get per run. That's just grinding for credits which you can do much better and quicker by doing other things.

I've started out playing this game about 6 weeks back when it was on sale, so haven't got that much experience in trading but I can attest to the T7 even in it's current form being a great ship to own, made me hundreds of millions in cg's alone in just 6 weeks soooooooo.
I've done some basic engineering to it like thrusters and fsd and i'm very pleased with it, now the only thing I need on my T7 is that 5th weapon compartment so i can actually utilize the class 4 PD that it's about to receive.

I mean come on! A 15 million orso credit ship with 4 "SHMÄLL" hardpoints?
Call me crazy but I use my T7 as a miner, and it's just not enough IMO.

Good to be on the forum though, just started my profile, o7!

If you travel x% faster while carrying x% less, you earn the same. Its every bit as important as carrying capacity. Add the superior defensive capabilities and agility, and the conda is still very amazing. And more expensive. The T9 is now an excellent choice, but not the only one. The T7 is also pretty amazing for MUCH less. :)

Yeah, agree. I'm not rich enough for any of the big boys, but after hauling around in my T7 with stock 5A FSD, I soon got fed up. Turned out I didn't have the mats for a 4/5 upgrade at Farseer, but even the grade 3 gave me a decent boost. 30Ly empty, about 22Ly full. Not enormous by any stretch but plenty good enough for the local area around Tun. Even if two jumps turns into one jump, that's quicker hauling and quicker money making...same for CGs. I might get the mats for the 4/5 roll, and make some other stuff lightweight, see how far I can push this baby!

I call the T-7 a flying brick, the T-9 a lead Frizbee, I have owned both, but switched to the T-10 which is still a short/medium-range lead Frizbee with better defenses.
IMO ---
When the Carrier appears as advertised, I'll consider that as my Fleet Base, travel as I like through the Galaxy with several diverse ships, using the T-10 to transport goods back to the Bubble.
This next year will see a lot of additions, buffs, and/or new ships.
It will be logical to decide which ship to use for each preferred mode of play that will best impact how your monetary standing, influence, and ranking will advance.

Is the T9 really that bad? I do worry about the turn rate being too slow for me. But after 3.0, it feels wasteful not to carry as much as physically possible, so the T10 and Conda seem so small in comparison.
