After 3000 Hrs, some suggestions and feedback

Some QOL Requests after a fair bit of time playing

Add a separate “relative mouse rate” slider to the SRV turret (currently relative mouse rate controls all instances of relative mouse)

  • Unable to get a relative mouse rate that is suitable for flying the ship and controlling the SRV Turret, The SRV turret sways around like a wet noodle in mouse mode (Unless you set relative mouse to MAX, making the ship impossible to fly)…
  • something like <BuggyTurretMouseDecayRate Value="2.94352150" /> in the binds

Change the Point of View in the SRV Turret “frame of reference indicator” so that the SRV diagram moves, not the FOV indicator (image below)


SRV thrusters currently let us boost up, give us the option to boost horizontally forward

  • this would be handy on low friction surfaces, and to drive up steep inclines… basically I’m asking for a Nitrous button

Speaking of SRV… I would like a new srv

  • Better yet, I would like a Bipedal Mech SRV (Like ANTHEM or the “Hulkbuster” Iron Man Suit)
    • Slower crossing distance, but more agile in combat etc


Add some options to ingame Voice coms.

  • Let us choose what device to use for voice comms if we have multiple recording devices (all other games and apps let you do this)
  • Give us the option to adjust and test our mic sensitivity in the menu so we can set our mic gain accordingly, oh and give us a mic gain setting

Let us broadcast voice in the current AO (Local instance). (with the option to toggle on and off in options)

  • many games have a voice chat yell / broadcast option that has volume decay over distance, so you dont have to “request a voice com” just broadcast... ingame lore can have a “it requires alot of power to broadcast so it has short range (10 - 20 km for instance, or based on sensor max range)

Please give us a keybind to lock camera on target if the target is within the FOV of your cockpit (like GTA V’s “FOCUS” keybind)

  • I recall a feature like this in GTA, where when pressed it will turn your headlook in the direction of your target (it was used in tail and chase missions) . (My Tobii eyetracker does this job for me, and the reason for getting the eyetracker was because this feature was not available)

Option to enable 3rd keybinds in the menu

  • Asking for a 3rd keybind may feel silly, but I use a joystick & Keyboard, then sometimes switch to mouse and keyboard and on the odd occasion I sit back and play on the game pad, depending on whats most comfortable for the activity, be it fa off combat, long distance jump, jump, jump. Or srv…. The button I particularly want a 3rd bind for is the FSD charge button (I’ve felt the need for this when I just feel like sitting back with a beer in my hand using only my numpad to align my ship and jump to next star on long hauls)

Add “power modes” for modules

  • what I mean by “power modes” is basically fire groups for module “on / off” states,
    • so for instance, you have set your power priorities likes this
    • Priority 1: FSD / sensors / thrusters | Priority 2: Shields / shield boosters |Priority 3: cargo scoop / weapons
    • now you can have a keybind to cycle up and down between Power mode 0 and 3 meaning
      • Power Mode 0: All modules off (except power plant)
      • Power Mode 1: Power priority 1 items are powered on
      • Power Mode 2: Power priority 2 items and below are powered on
      • Etc
    • alternatively you can have the option to tailor your power modes to have certain power configs, 1 for combat / 1 for travel / 1 for low heat emissions, for instance

Untethered SLF mode

  • Let us deploy the SLF and dismiss our ships (Like we can do with the SRV)
    • I was excited when SLF’s were about to come out because I thought I could deploy the SLF and dismiss my ship and faff about in canyons, etc…. just to have it come out with “telepresence” and have to drag my lumbering ship behind my within 30km

Let us use multicrew functions with NPC crew

  • I would like to let my NPC crew take the helm while I go in 3rd person turret view… that simple

Let us Queue for CQC from our cockpits

  • we have many full screen windows (like squadrons, engineers, galnet…) just add CQC as another one and let us queue without having to log back to menu
