This was the object of envy for me in the original elite, the only ship I would have gladly abandoned my cobra for. So after a 30 year (or so) wait I am looking forward to flying it in March.
The purpose of this thread is to "crowdsource" what the expected stats are. I expect it to effectively be an upgraded cobra/asp type ship rather than a dedicated fighter, but one with plenty of firepower, speed and manouverability. Given the narrow profile you would expect decent hard point placement too. Low cargo capacity. Probably a paper thin hull too, in the fiction fer de lance are notoriously breakdown prone.
If they stay true to the original it will be faster than the cobra with around the same turning circle. Will probably beat vipers but lose to vultures (given equal pilots) I guess? four medium hardpoints? or one large and two medium?
Anyway we will find out in the next two weeks or so, but in the meantime any speculation on what it will be like would help to pass the time
