After a week, some gameplay suggestions for the next version(s)

1) A lot more fitting options!
We need more modules to make fitting more interesting.
Right now fitting is a straight line of upgrades until you are at AAAAA, that's quite boring.
Some ideas:
I'd like to see modules to make peoples engine slower (like a warp bubble or something)
Something to block the enemy jump drive
Maybe something like an interdictor which can placed around your ship while you go very slow, so you can "block paths"
Illegal fittings (that can not be easily scanned on station entry), like antimatter bombs etc.
And MOST important: We need RARE fittings. Stuff you can not easily find.


2) Need to pack ships and containers.
We need to be able to transport ships and modules/items around instead of permanently rebuying and reselling

3) Contracts
I'd like to see player driven contracts. I want to offer a bounty. I want to offer a transport to a trader (like getting my ship from A to B)
I'd like to be able to trade with players

4) Location and exploration matters !
The location should matter more! Maybe finding "pirate or illegal outposts" would be a great way to find new locations to get stuff you normally can not get.
Exploration would be a lot more interesting for everyone if it would pay out in obtaining something special/unique.


5) Cargo and canisters
Right now it's a "horrible" system. Any dropped cargo is stolen even if your friend gave you something or you found it at a signal location.
Stolen should be removed or at least reduced so something is only stolen if the enemy was NOT wanted.
It needs to be visible on the screen also.
Also taking something that was dropped 15 minutes ago should not be stolen anymore in any case.


6) AI
It is unbelieveable that NPCs do not try to flee more often. (however, it's difficult enough to make money on bounties, so that needs balance without having to jump behind all the time)
It is unbelievable that small NPCs scan you for cargo and threaten you in a big warship or INTERDICT you..
If a freighter drops his cargo on it's own it should not be stolen anymore. (see above)
NPCs should have a lot more text to speak, better 1000 lines instead of 2-3
Make it possible to negotiate, NPCs could offer a part of their bounty if you let them go in the middle of a fight for example.
NPCs in general should act more like human beings.


7) Bounty sharing ?
Sniping bounty should not be that easy.
Either bounty should be shared based on the total damage (shields and hull)or just rewarded to the one who did more damage. Not sure about that one but right now it's not a perfect situation.


8) Missions
Right now, boring and repeating.
You should be able to get into missions that require a TEAM!
I'd like to go with a team into exploration and hunt into the wild/unknown searching for a pirate base for example.
Depending on the base size you get a different enemy which needs a team or a stronger ship.
As a team reward should be shared and doing such missions should give good reward.
Items (like rare fittings ) should be dropped from the base.
That would make it worthwile to go out with friends and search for a good fight, not just one by one NPC bounty hunting.


9) Teams and Groups
Well here we are, we need to be able to synchronize jumps and going around.
A group should be formed ingame and colored in the HUD. So you can always select a group-mate and fly to him (also over long system distances)
I also want to see the shield and hull of each so we know who to help.



10) Arena
I'd like to see an Arena mode where I can fight with a friend to test our skills and ships against each other.
Right now it's no that great.

11) Filters, colors
I want to be able to set filters on what I see in "contacts" and different colors.


12) VR features (only for VR configs)
When VR is used switch to green text to double the effective resolution of DK2
Add more information in the cockpit, there is plenty of space to display more data and details.
Remove animations of hands and arms
Add a player head controlled by VR in realtime for others to see
Add an ingame keyboard overlay so we can type, galaxy map as prime example
Add dynamic graphic changes if FPS drops below set amount, some features like shadows or AA can be turned off/on on-the-fly and doing that could remove judder
Add a ZOOM option for VR users so we can see more. Only the outside view should be zoomed however (our cockpit screen is digital anyway, soit should also be able to zoom!)


13) Systems
Elite conmtains billions of systems, while that is a great idea on one hand it also complicates the MMO part a lot.
We have a million more systems than active players and an MMO lives from having player 2 player contact. PVP etc.
But on the other hand, right now nothing is gained from making PVP with a player.
You can't win anything you can only lose.
There is a big hole in this whole Player2Player interaction at the moment.


14) Statistics
I want to see my own stats, I want rankings and leaderboards.
I want to have records about fines, kills, deaths, NPC and PVP, etc.
I want to see WHO killed me, how he did it and a link to the guy.
These things are all essential imho.


*) I might get some heat over that:
I'd like to see Elite implement features we see in EVE Online.
Right now the core of ED is the fighting system, flying the plane is very well done.
I fly in VR and it's amazing how much fun it is even with the currently heavily limited features the game delivers.

I am aware Elite can not reach the complexion of EVE but quite some parts of EVE should be aimed at.
The trading and player-generated market would be awesome in Elite too.
The fitting of EVE is an own science;) Most likely too much work for Elite but maybe we can get a bit closer to that.
Groups, Exploration, wormholes, etc ..
Eve has an amazingly deep game engine and almost all of it would fit more than perfect into Elite Dangerous.
The main difference is the controlling scheme which is so much more rewarding and fun in ED than in EVE.

So in the long run I'd love to see ED become more like the little brother of EVE in terms of gameplay, even if the paths go in a different direction.

Warp buble... Not to be rude but go back to EVE :p

2) Ships
Doubt it will happen but i do agree there should at least be somekind of spacebus service so we could land in one station with our ship and fly to another where we had another ship in the shipyard.

4) Exploration
Exploration is already very interesting prolly the best exploration system i've seen in a game.

5) Cargo
Yes that requires some work i've seen a few ideas around that could work.

7) Bounty
It can be troublesome sometimes yes some improvements can be made.

8) Missions
A good idea

14) Some of those thins are not essential but some are lacking atm.

Thanks, I found some of my ideas but many suggestions not.

I think we need to especially put some weight into those 4 points:
1: much better and diverse NPC/AI
2: much more fitting/modules/items variety
3: much stronger social interaction, we need to get a large part of the players into a few core locations and interaction friendly/unfriendly needs to make sense (profit)
4: much more statistics and scores/ranks

I think those 4 points need to be focused to make the experience of Elite better, if those points get dragged behind for too long Elite might become boring for many players.
The least focus I would put into walking in stations, FPS experiences etc. That's awesome to have but the core game needs a lot more attention before adding such a work intense featureset.
