Yes, you're right, thanks! Great albums both.your mixing two of them, the one where chief has to go on a diet is the one where they're looking for vercingetorix's shield i think.
the "tour de gaule" is started because the romans want to isolate them behind a wall(a silly idea). and to prove they can go everywhere they want they claim they can come back with culinary specialities from all around the country.
Mad Magazine? Loved it!Asterix and Tintin (and Mad books) pretty much sum up my childhood reading.
One of my favourite albums was Astérix légionnaire (Asterix the Legionary).
it must be " le bouclier arverne" ... the "tour de gaule"
Sorry for a bit off-topic here but I wanted to ask about another comic from our French and Belgian friends here (Patrick, Nicomak and others). I saw that Blake & Mortimer (Edgar P. Jacobs) got a continuation with other authors taking up the stories. Did anyone read these and if so are they worth buying? Did they stay true to the style and feel of Jacobs?
I think the English majority here on this forum can also appreciate some of these and maybe especially the album "The Yellow M", set in a foggy, early 1950's London. Even the protagonists are British. Dr. Philip Mortimer and Captain Francis Blake.
Oh yes Asterix the Legionary is excellent. Mister Rollo is a connoisseur
