So i've been away for a while, work's keeping me busy. Haven't played since the War in Lugh ended. But tonight i wanted to take the old lady for a spin and planned to fly a bit around in Lugh, the system i helped bring freedom.
Only a few seconds in the system i was noticed by a cmdr and immediately interdicted. He was a bit rude, asking me what i wanted here in his fancy FdL and i wasn't in the mood for a lot of explaining, so i told him that the reason for being here was my own business. A bit of chit-chat then he opened fire.
Of course (it's in the name!) i didn't wait for him to finish me off and started running. Took me a bit longer than usual to go to SC but i still got it.
The long game of running through SC began and he was quick to interdict me again. This time he brought a friend in a vulture!
Again made it into SC but it took a bit longer this time. Used up all my heat sinks, but ok. It was time for the old "stay in SC for a few seconds and hit the breaks"-trick i used during the war smuggling weapons into the system. It brought me closer to my destination. This worked a few times, but then they caught up to me. This time 4 cmdrs were on my tail! I really felt important.
They were really furious this time, threw at me everything they got, rockets, rail guns, lasers. There was a moment when i thought i wouldnt make it. But remembering the old tricks and inventing a few new on the fly i managed to escape again.
This time i hit the breaks one second after entering SC because i saw another cmdr already waiting there. I had enough. I gave them their victory and parked the lady in a nearby system. Too tired to go against these guys again tonight. Maybe next time. See you out there!
While writing i had the thought, those guys might have been Lugh war veterans like me and were trying to defend their system. It would be nice if we could have some kind of call sign attached to the ship (viewable in SC) so that everybody could know on which side the other cmdr fought. Would avoid confusions? Yes of course they could have asked politely, but who has time for this these days?
But come to think of it, they probably were Feds because they had superior numbers and still didn't accomplished their goal.
