Afterburner Thruster Module

Similar to how there are bi-weave and standard shield configurations, I think having different thrusters that remove the boost entirely for an afterburner that kicks in when thrusters hit 100% would be awesome.
You would lose a lot of maneuverability and reaction-based agility, but you would gain a ton of raw speed which would be useful for traders flying very slow, already not very maneuverable ships. I'm sure racers would love it for canyon racing too.
You could balance it out by making it generate heat slowly over time, rather than the instant buildup of heat.
 
I too think there is room for improvement when it comes to thrusters
Whether this is boosting for duration of button press or giving away the boost entirely for a faster top end speed an engineer for this type of experimentation would be a great addition to game in my opinion
And I think both could be easily added by reducing cap cost for a boost and changing duration of boost time
