I'm a wee bit older - but I think you'll find the answers you seek here

I think that poll is really interesting.

I can see the game being quite different from the norm because the players are mostly between the ages of 30 and 50.

FD also have the problem of marketing it to younger gamers if they want to make money out of it.

Also, the current fan base will may have to put up with younger, less socially adept people on the forums and the games if it really does take off. I wonder how that would work?

Physically I'm just a smidge over 40 and a half.

Mentally, I have no idea - sometimes I feel quite old, sometimes I feel no different to when I was 17, but I don't think I've ever felt "grown up".

Yes - it could turn out to be a bunfight if this does appeal to those closer to 20 than 50.

Those of us of a more mature vintage may have to rise above it - if some forums I've seen are anything to go by! :D

Absolutely right, I'm 49 by the way, I had the original elites BBC B and C=64 and Amiga. I can honestly say I must have played for THOUSANDS of hours, restarting many times.

I'm sure we can manage the youngsters, we have the experience, not too sure about pulling all night games now though...

Yes - and that bit of grass and bunch of houses used to be a lido.

And that block of flats, and that one and that one and that one and several more used to be pubs..

:(

Luckily I am closer to Digitalducks age than the rest of you! ;)

Any reference to a Lido is a real indicator of age!

Pah, console kiddie! That explains your stance in the Achievements/badges thread! ;)

I'm double your age! :(

Not at all - I grew up on a Speccy too, as I'm just a poor boy from a poor family (all together now!) and had to cope with hand-me-downs. Best thing that ever happened to me (aside from a couple of other things, but let's not go there).

Plus I tend to ignore Achievements myself - I just think you're being too harsh the other way. But let's save that discussion for that thread. :D

I am a speccy boy too... rubber keys and broken bloomin membrane due to Daley Thomson and his GOD DAMN KEYSMASHING decathlon .

I have a lovely webbased verision of Skool Daze.. Oh the memories!! :)

I have never understood why the ENTIRE catalogue of speccy games isn't all playable on modern day browsers...

Come on Mr Internet!!! Make it HAPPEN!!

...

I'm old enough to remember when the United Kingdom was called Great Britain, which was slightly before it became just "Britain" - it was a time when there was something called "common sense", naughty children didn't have ADHD (they were just naughty) and, sadly, Liverpool football club used to win the league...

To be more exact, I'll be "over the hill" come January 2014
