I managed to get zapped by someone at the Federal Distress Signal last night whilst engaged. I'm not an amazing pilot, but I'm no slouch either; but sadly I didn't have much of chance to retaliate or do much of anything before having to fork out my insurance excess.
Usually I'd get annoyed at this point; and spend an hour doing something else, but figured the same mechanic would work in my favour too.
I took great delight in getting back there ASAP and going medieval on his ass. First time I've cheered at the screen thanks to a game in a long time; loved it. He didn't manage to land a single shot before I was laughing amongst the wreckage.
I do find it a shame that PvP appears to be a wham-bam thank-you-maam affair at the moment; if the circumstances are right people pop very quickly, I'd love if things could be balanced a little to make mounting an adequate defence possible.
