AI Co-pilot functions

I know I am plasma accelerating a dead horse here. But I really believe that there should be AI co-pilots.

1. Full poly directional scanning of ships.
2. Doesn't eliminate wing capability.
3. Handles chaff, banks, and heat-sink's like NPC ships.
4. If in SRV, can provide air support from mother-ship/fighter.
5. Additional spiffs; (fuel saving per jump, damage output, shield recharge rate, repairs ship/modules, comes with a scanner ability)
6. Can reduce negative satisfactory ratings with passengers.

I know I am jumping the shark here but we need more "fleet command features". Like in X3 but a little simplified and less excel spreadsheet simulating.

I would love to have a wing of my engineered Clipper with my two engineered couriers.

you can get this to some degree when you are in a Ship Launched Fighter and you have an NPC Copilot, but I agree there's much more that we should be able to command them to do since they are getting a percentage of all our profits

I just want to start a fleet. I was so bummed when the Clipper didn't have SLF's even though one can fit in the cockpit. Saddened me. Killed a lot of value in that ship.

Yeah, it is a bit shocking that more ships can't equip SLF Hangers since the Keelback can equip one and it is nearly as small as a Diamondback X and is certainly smaller than an Asp X

I know I'm using my multi-cannons on my dead horse ...

But I agree, we should have more things our NPC crew can do other than fly a fighter. My 1st desire would be to simply have my crew sit in the co-pilots seat and look at me and I at them. I don't think that would be too much to ask as a start. There are lots of suggestions on these forums for other benefits a crew can give you so I won't waste time typing those ideas again.

1) If we had sensor operator type crew slot maybe. I'm not so much into the AI crew members outside of SLFs/helm.
2) for dang sure. Wings/Crew (AI or not) should go up to 4 total but set up to allow both (crew and wing at same time). How this wasn't done for release I have no idea, but it was a HUGE mistake.
3) Eh, maybe tie some of that into a sensor operator crew slot
4) And flat out allow crew use of SRV in general.
5) Outside of the extra pips, I feel nothing is needed.
6) Hah I like it.
